Damn, that would be pretty good stuff.
Those dudes (and dudettes) are something else. The Dawn Wall is very comparable and a great documentary as well. One subtle item I picked up on in both productions, re: Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell, Honnold's mom said she believed his dad to have had (or still does perhaps...not sure if still alive or not) Aspergers or the like. On the spectrum I guess is the proper nomenclature. Honnold sort of strikes me as same, possibly. Similarly, Caldwell's mom said on The Dawn Wall that when he was little she felt something wasnt quite right. I believe she was discreetly referring to Asbergers etc as well.
If this is the case, one could envision that being a great benefit to such climbing...only them or a climbing pair involved so no jumbled group mess, uber attentiveness to detail and enhanced ability to recall all that detail at any given time...the detail being damn near each and every fingerhold and foothold along an entire route. Throw in perhaps a somewhat lowered or altered emotional connection as to the effect of potential fall/death upon loved ones.
None of that is to be derogatory of course. Quite the opposite. Impressive people, to put it mildly.

His dad died when he was young and it’s not a stretch to figure he has aspb also. The mri he did showed minimal activity in his brain that controls fear. Eventually he will fall like many of the pioneers in that limited circle.
