Hopefully the crack of noon.

Don't blame you for not asking him anymore. Sounds like you're babysitting him. Might as well take a kid if you have to watch him like that. I don't like taking guys who drink to much to a ballgame, much less out on a boat, where you're ultimately responsible for him. If I wanted to babysit, I'd have some kids.

These are my thoughts, and I do like to drink, just a time and place.

A functioning, few morning beers guy is a different animal from the fella who waits all week and blows his load first thing Saturday morn. I've been around both, and the latter is a dick who I shuck and won't come back. A man who can have his morning brew, hydrate, and function for the duration can hunt/fish with me time and time again.

Anyone have a buddy like that they avoid on the boat??
6 beers before the sun comes up is pretty impressive.
The guy with the boat, camp, or fishing spots holds all the cards. So you just have to ask yourself, which one are you?
and can it be replaced.

That's why there's no alcohol in my boat. We're going fishing/hunting not drinking. I also don't mind going by myself and prefer hunting by myself so if alcohol is a must it's no skin off my back to go solo.

Bass, trout, crappie, - no drinking
Running trot lines, jugs, yo-yos or any kind of bait under a cork, well......things could get sloppy

A little extreme IMO. I definitely think drinking copious amounts should be reserved for crabbing/running lines. But killing a case between 2 or 3 people while hammering the trout in grand isle is my version of paradise

Yall are missing that this could be an actual problem for this guy. Maybe lsuson should check into his buddy's drinking patterns. He could be an alcoholic. He could be depressed. He could be over-stressed. All kinds of shite cause people to be that drunk abnormally

I’m pretty sure we have the same friend.

Too much shite can go wrong too quick, I am in the minority around here but alcohol and guns and boats just don’t mix, once we get back to the camp and the guns and or bots are put up, have at it and drink all you want, at my place the rule is once you pick up a drink you don’t pick up a gun, I don’t have a boat so your situation is slightly different, but I would have a similar rule

No and I wouldn’t invite him either. I don’t have anything against people drinking a few beers while they fish with me but I don’t drink at all while fishing. First off I’m in a mindset like I’m on a mission to find and catch fish so drinking isn’t a priority to me and secondly, I have an hour drive to get home. Now once I get home and I’m cleaning the boat it’s game on.

Sheesh. You should have a talk with him.

This.

I golf with a guy sometimes that does this with whiskey. He drank 2/3 of a handle of a Gentlemen’s Jack and got his golf cart stuck on a concrete culvert. He is a customer of ours so I bite my tongue but man, I hate playing with him. I love smoking a cigar and having a few beers, but he gets trashed.
