I dont understand why a sbr is an NFA item but being that it is, the whole arm brace thing is a really obvious workaround and doomed to get got eventually. Its always been inevitable.

Like Trump's bumpstock ban? That was an EO directing ATF to make a rule. They did. Made everyone criminals.

And I think the 6th circuit court told the atf to shove it up their arse.

This was ruled as unconstitutional.

The ATF's obsession with sbr's is astounding. I'm perplexed as to why they are even on the list. How is a less accurate rifle any more dangerous than one 16"?

I don’t think he understands how ghost guns work. The point is the government doesn’t know they exist in the first place so this is pointless.

could announce regulations on concealed assault-style firearms;

Would be challenged in court. I’d conceal carry is legal and the gun is legal then he can’t do this.

prohibitions on firearm purchases for those convicted of domestic violence against their partners;

Pretty sure this is already the case, it’s usually a felony. If it’s a minor misdemeanor I don’t think he can do this either without signing a law.

quote:

alerts to law enforcement agencies when a potential buyer fails a background check;

Not sure how i feel on this without more info. If a convicted felon, especially if it’s a violent felon, tries to illegally purchase a gun then I’m ok with that being flagged but it can’t be a very common thing anyways. Most criminals buy off the streets

federal guidance on home storage safety measures.

Will be about as effective as his mask wearing guidance. Although every gun owner should store his or her firearms in a secure place to prevent theft or kids getting them. This is common sense. I don’t need Biden to tell me to keep ammo, guns, and magazines locked in my safe

Shorter barrels aren't less necessarily accurate unless you're talking about user error because of the shorter sight radius. And I gave up trying to figure out the ATF's "logic" a long time ago.

And as luck would have it, it's the only type of gun I even want right now.

They're not very pleasant in 5.56 unless you're suppressing it. If I get one it'll be a 300.

I dont really get why it needs to be flagged. If they were prevented from buying the gun, didnt the background check do its job? Maybe I am simplifying it to much.

Look for the failure rate to increase for whatever reason needed. Gives gov free reign to poke through your shite sidestepping the 4th would be my guess.

Not only this, but if you are a felon in possession, forcing you to submit to a background check violates your 5th Amendment rights.

So basically no more folding stocks on an AR-15?

Not linking but NBC article I read this morning said “braces make the gun more accurate and easier to control”. Obviously the person that wrote the article is spewing talking points and never shot a gun with a brace.

Are they referring to those stabilizing braces that wrap around your arm or just “arm brace” as in a folding stock that makes it easier to conceal?
