Not true at all. Not even close. Makes a huge difference, especially with cans like the ones from CGS.

You're a CGS sales rep, aren't you? Everything comes back to them.

Yes, you have to wear hearing protection

Never worn hearing protection for shooting or anything else except my job in a grain elevator/feed manufacturing mill

That's pretty damned stupid.

Congrats on the hearing aids in a couple of years I guess...

Last hearing test I had perfect hearing and been shooting guns for 38 years. Think I’ll be ok.

When I was growing up you didn’t wear hearing protection but that was hunting and shooting at home. I’ve never been to a range I’ve always shot at my parents and never more than a-magazine or 2. If I went to a range and shot more than 50-60 rounds then ya I’d probably wear something

I’m wasnt talking about recreational shooting

Where has anyone said that?

You obviously have no idea just how loud an AR is, apparently. The silencer takes away the mind numbing boom and leaves the crack of the bullet.

I'm well aware of how loud an AR is...and if you are wearing good hearing protection, it really doesn't matter...you have to wear it anyway.

we just had our monthly AR competition at the range on Wednesday, no one shoots suppressed (shot timer issues)and the only ones that are slightly uncomfortable with hearing protection are those shooting with muzzle brakes.

That said, the only time I DONT use it is when I'm deer hunting. Well... now that I think about it, never have duck hunting, rabbit hunting, turkey hunting or squirrel hunting.

Aint no way. I'm jealous as hell if true. I'm a good bit younger than you, always wore hearing protection unless I was hunting, and last hearing test my left ear was measurably worse than my right and the doctors response was "do much shooting?"

How would you know? You've obviously never shot subsonic .223 with a can

I'll add this...Let me know when you find subsonic .223 that will consistently and reliably cycle in a standard AR configuration that you would be willing to risk your life with carrying everyday

When I was growing up there were no such thing as child seats in cars.

But we all see how stupid that is now.

I was married 17 years so I do have selective hearing LOL.

My eyesight is getting worse compared to my hearing used to be 20/10 and 20/20 now it’s 20/20 and 20/25. Thank god my right eye is still good since I’m right eye dominant . Doctor told me I have eyes like an eagle for far distance but up close my left eye not so much.

I don’t know which I’d rather be bad hearing or sight? Guess it depends on your hobbies and work

I have a griffin can on my 5.56 AR that is good for up to 300WSM

You guys are acting like it its as good as a 300blk suppressed with subsonic ammo

Nobody is acting like anything. All I said is that an SBR in 5.56 is unpleasant to shoot, because they are. A suppressor tames that considerably. Anything else you got out of that is in your head.

I just looked at the curio and relics at aim surplus. Holy crap stuff I used to buy has gone up 200%

I did order 2 pistol braces recently but alas they were lost while being shipped. Had to file a report with the shipper.
