I had planned on taking the kids this weekend for Swollfest. The weather forecast has me rethinking it. I don't mind the rain but 20-25 mph southwest winds seem to really limit the fishing. Anyone else pulling the plug on Grand Isle plans due to the weather?

I was planning to go Thursday, but now am planning to wait and go on Friday. Maybe fish, maybe cook and drink...either way I am not missing Swollfest.

Going to be hard to find a protected spot to fish with that kind of wind. Enjoy the shrimp you are going to buy and boil from Dean Blanchard's Seafood. You may not be eating fried fish.

I imagine the water will be way too dirty to find specs in the surf, I’ll wait till next week

Didn't Swollfest start today? Those 30knt winds are going to probably keep everyone in I would imagine.

He’s laughing at all the baws who say that regularly... “aw man 3-5s.. that’s it? shite I’ve been in 6-8s several times”

i don’t think there’s one captain who would go out in 6-8s. 3-4s even suck bigly in most boats.

I've been caught in true 6-8ft seas before and it's pretty impressive / scary. Luckily it was like a 8 second period so we werent getting beat to shite

I do always laugh when I see someone posting a video "cruising 40mph in 5ft chop", when it's only like 2ft lol

I’d imagine it’s pretty scary shite. I’ve been in some solid 3-5s but it was on a 60’ aluminum tank of a boat so it wasn’t TOO Horrible.

We were in a 31ft center console. It actually wasnt bad because you could fit between each wave. If it was chop it would be a completely different story

This is the tank I was on. It’s basically an airstream that floats
