Dump crawfish heads in water, lay near bank under a camo blanket with a .22, wait for the mistake to be made.

Have you got a younger sister who can adopt it, and keep it in her dresser, to hide it from the parents? Give it a cool name like Nugene.

It faded out just like: "Bourbon Street rat. The other white meat."

It works with ducks, you just swim up under them, and grab their feet when they are sleeping. That's what I have been told anyhow...

Nutria are herbivores. They aren’t into those crawfish.

...you may wish to revisit your studies.

They eat crawfish and snails as a protein and fat source.

When we first bought our house, my wife put some elephant ear bulbs that she had dug up from our prior place and we intended to plant them along our back fence.

The next morning, all four of them were floating in our retention pond. I figured it was kids, flipped a crank bait to snag them and bring them back to shore. Next morning, same thing. Then I realized the fricking teeth marks that had been gnawing on them lol

Nutria are varied eaters, most fond of aquatic plants and roots. They also feast on small creatures such as snails or mussels.

FIFY its not much larger than a rabbit and you want to connect with your first shot. They will burrow into the bank whether you have a levee or not then the tunnels cave in and your yard becomes pond. From personal experience once they get educated they'll become nocturnal and run at the sight of a light making them hard to kill.
