For years I carried a Glock 27 in a Galco IWB holster and thought it was perfect. Then I bought a Glock 43 and discovered Milt Sparks holsters. For the next several months I looked like an idiot constantly checking to see if it was still there. It's the easiest gun to carry concealed that I've ever owned.

This is what I carry in an alien gear.

I hope this is a joke. 1911? Not for cc. Heavy, limited rounds, and cocked? Nope. Its not 1945 anymore.

Yeah, the Shield comes with both a 7 and 8 round mag. I like the shorter mags better on that size pistol because my pinky finger hangs completely off. With the 8 round mags, my pinky finger only fits halfway on the mag, so it's awkward to draw quickly and remember to take my pinky off of the mag.
If I'm gonna be in a situation where that extra round counts, I'm bringing a bigger gun

Love my shield 9mm and would recommend it to anyone.
I'm anxious to shoot the shield 45. Anyone grabbed ahold of that thing yet?

I have the M&P 45, but it has a longer barrel than a CC weapon. The Shield only comes in 9mm and 40 as far as I know, but I don't keep up with what's new.
The 45 is a Cadillac. I love it. Accurate and awesome, but would be hard to conceal unless you had a jacket and shoulder harness.

Watch Palmetto State Armory for Black Friday deals, the last two years they've had one with night sights that would normally be $750+ for $500. Fantastic gun

What are some good guns that you can secretly carry that are not too large, yet pack enough power to ward would-be muggers (ie petty theft and/or aggressive people).
You might want to work on the mental/psychological aspect first. A responsible gun owner does not carry for the purpose of scaring people they perceive as threats. Don't draw a weapon to de-escalate a threat that has not risen to a lethal force situation. Being too quick to brandish is what can make things much worse, very quickly.

The 45 started shipping I think 4ish months ago.
Oh shite. If my husband finds out about this he'll need ANOTHER gun.

My current 2 are Kimber Crimson Carry 2 with the 4" barrel, and the Walther PPK/S. I have been looking at getting a Shield 9mm.
Kimber is 8 + 1 in .45
Walther is 7 + 1 in .380
Shield is 8 + 1 in 9mm
I am of the opinion that it is more important to be comfortable shooting your CC gun than it is to have the biggest caliber. I originally didn't plan on carrying .45 but, of all of my handguns, I shoot the Kimber the best by a mile.
