I’ve got a good buck on camera that came out last week during the day time. Since then he has been coming out between 6-7 and staying most of the night. Got a corn feeder throwing at 7am in a patch of rye grass. Any hunting hacks I can do to make him come out a little earlier? TIA

Move cameras and see where he is going during the day. Hes not hiding, hes just elsewhere.

Build a rural road near a treeline.

They are always out on my way home from work, mocking the passers-by. Knowing full well they are safe, for now...

If you find out how to make a free range mature buck predictably come out over a feed pile in the daylight you could write the book and retire.

Was having this debate with a couple of guys at camp last year.

If you put corn out in the same spot multiple days a week, and you hunt those spots, the mature deer will figure it out. IMO, over feeding will spur the deer to come out to the pile in the dark more so than daylight.

Think of it like Golden corral but nothing but corn for the deer. Sure, they're going to eat or snack during the day. But they're going to gorge themselves on it at night when they're not pressured

Quit using feeders. Place mineral licks/blocks. When you go to hunt spread out 100 pounds of corn over a broad area the evening before, they will find it and keep hitting it until it’s gone.

Feeders make it easy for them to go nocturnal.

Stop being lazy, if they want to move at night, then you have to hunt them at night.

Slowly start spiking your corn pile with cocaine. Up the amount every 3 days. After three weeks you will have him hitting the pile every 30 minutes. It’s a little expensive, but well worth it.

Try hunting the trails from where you believe he is coming from.

Figure out where he’s coming from and hunt the path between where he’s coming from and the feeder. If he’s hitting the feeder at 6, he’s not far off at 5:30.

Stop feeding for awhile and scout where he’s bedding at. Set up down wind of his bedding and wait. Trust me, you’ll feel so much better getting him not feeding on a corn pile...

Number one reason I am personally against feeding. Makes nocturnal mature bucks even lazier and more nocturnal

Don’t pressure them during the day.

Yep, just wait for the rut. Until then, only hunt the stand during ideal conditions.
