I'm assuming others have seen this shitpile full page ad by a commercial fisheries lobbyist.
I'll take a picture of it and try to post it
paraphrasing...they are protecting access to this public resource for the citizenry in the face of attacks from politicians and "wealthy private fishermen"
The endgame was always to get charters on board first and then open fire on Joe coonass who just wants to snapper fish

If there were a fundraiser to advertise that the commercial fishermen involved literally have their catch shares given to them, I would donate in a heartbeat.

Seems like they're doing EXACTLY what they are claiming recreational fisherman are doing
Here you go. I can't get more than this on my cell phone

quote:WTF?
American red snapper are a public asset, and should not be privatized for the
exclusive use of a small group of wealthy anglers.
That's what we have now. We're trying to get rid of this bullshite.

Nothing is open in the gulf right now.
Red snapper
Amberjack
Triggerfish
All closed. Meanwhile commercial fricks are steady raping the reefs and killing fish. If the populations are in such danger then how come it's not closed to everyone? Why is it the only people allowed to fish make money off of these resources? frick this shite man I'm done.
This shite is so fricking frustrating. Especially when I have frick heads like Bradley Byrne pretending to be an advocate for the recreational fisherman while he's sucking the commercial guys dick.

After to 2007? Did that actually make it past a proofreader and get printed?

Anyone know how much a full page ad costs? Anyone else want to rent an ad that says what's really the case?

Of course, they fail to mention that the only reason the fishery was ever near collapse was due to overfishing by commercial fishermen. Not recreational fishing.

I'll put something on the official Outdoor Board response.
That ad is insulting.

The "biased media" has literally just been giving the facts about catch shares and how they are distributed.
Holy shite frick these people and their entitled mindset.

horseshite, State control via HR3094 is our best chance to get this shite straightened out. TPWD wants nothing more than to tell Buddy and his EDF funded hack friends in the CFH sector to go pound sand, give them control out to 200 miles off the coast of Tx and watch things change for the Rec angler who by far has a greater impact on the economy of the State. If that ever happens I hope you guys next door can elect a governor smarter than the one you have now so bought hacks like Melancon will never be in charge of your fisheries again.

I love to eat snapper. I do not fish for snapper. I have purposefully not bought snapper because of this bullshite.
