Evidently all the arse clowns hoarding everything also bought every freezer in the country... i legitimately need a new freezer for the garage and can’t find one anywhere. Any of y’all can think of a place to look? I would have never thought there would be a run on appliances as well.

Toilet paper freshness is significantly extended in a frozen state.

I shopped for freezers yesterday online. I didn't notice any being out of stock at my local Lowe's.

I bought mine a few years back from Costco and it has been a champ! Paid less than $200 for it.

Just heard about this yesterday. One of our other posters found one at a place that specialized in dinged appliances.

It's actually not about hoarding in this case. My FIL works for Whirlpool...apparently the manufacturer that produces the electrical harnesses for all of the major brands has been shut down in Mexico due to workers coming down with the Rona. This is why there's a shortage of appliances at the moment.

My dad purchased a 20 cf frost free upright at Stine's in south laffy a few weeks ago. He had a lot of trouble finding one as well.

I'll do some digging on the name but I think there's a record store (or some other store seemingly unrelated to appliances) in Jeanerette that also sells appliances that has been rumored to have them.

Yes, mine went out in the garage two weeks ago. Went to two Lowe's and Home Depot's...no luck. Tried to order online, no luck. Checked with Best Buy, no luck. Checked back with all three two days later online and Best Buy had one in stock. Bought it. Crazy times.

Conn's has a good freezer selection. I bought an upright from there several years ago.

Freezer I get, I mean I don't agree with but I get the idea.

I had a rental property have a washing machine go out about a month ago, and the fricking washers and dryers were low in stock. I talked to the sales guy and they said they've had record sales for all appliances at the hardware store.

Who the frick is so worried they are buying new washers and dryers right now?

Wonder if it’s the same place I got mine from a while back in New Iberia.. Think it was called “Magic Video & Appliance”. I’d bet they have some. Good brands and prices.

Had to pass on a side of beef due to lack of freezer space. Have a garden that’s going to yield a bunch of corn and beans in the coming weeks. May have to can vs freeze if I can’t find a decent one soon. This crap is getting ridiculous but as the previous poster said it makes sense if the shortage is due to reduced manufacturing. Just makes you realize the fragility our society.

Last fall, my best buddy was cleaning out his deceased mom's condo. She had a brand new stand up freezer that he gave to me. The timing couldn't have been better. I owe him one.

Could be, but this was before the checks hit. But maybe people spent it before they got it. Wouldn’t surprise me.

Also feels better fresh from the freezer the morning after chili night.
