Yee haw! My camp has been downgraded from "exceptional" to "extreme" drought.

Man I would have thought that rain last night would have moved the needle a bit more

The weekly map comes out on Thursday and is based on data from 2 days before. This latest map is all rain before 8am Tuesday. Last nights rain will be in the data for the map released Dec 7th.

I have been unable to post a pic on post images.org, tbey wanted me to create an account.
So tried tiny pic and figured I would test it.

Last pics in my phone, seed spilled in camp yard mid Oct that doesn’t seem to need fertilizer, lime, soil prep or hardly any rain!!!

My problem now is the deer are hammering anything green and growing. Excluders are showing 5-6” of growth and everything outside is 1-2”

Yeah that’s the tallest grass on our place everything else looks like a putting green. We have already put out a pallet and a half of corn.
I have yet to see an acorn or hear any fall.

While I hate that it looks like it will ruin a Saturday, I'm hoping the storms this weekend will move the needle some more.

It will take months of periodic rains to change that map

Mine have come up pretty good, but their keeping it chopped down to the ground. Mostly at night of course.

Will probably take at least a year with a really wet winter and spring. I would just be happy to see my area change from the dark red to just red and hopefully yellow.

What would be the best fertilizer to put down before this rain? Straight Urea?

Probably just some Triple 13.

For spring/summer plots, do yall usually do the same routine of cutting/spraying/tilling/planting? Or just cut low, till and seed?
