Fall Fishing Goals

I am blessed to lived on a lake in North East Louisiana. The fall will be upon us soon and my goal is to only fish an umbrella rig all fall. Historically I have fished the umbrella rig, but cave and switch to a crank bait or other bait of choice. This fall will be the season of the umbrella rig for me - it will be all or nothing.

I’m on TB I fish the rig in January and February. Fall fishing is easiest time for me to get bit chuncking and winding and topwater. Prob won’t pick it up till then.

My fall, winter, spring, and summer goals are always the same. My goal is to just catch fish.

Enjoy the Biloxi marsh and Lake Catherine during cool fall weather.

Hoping to get my tango skiff build finished for the winter so I learn some new area and get back on the water.

Get as many hogfish as possible when they move in shallow in October.

Just to fish without melting

My goal is simple. Squeeze in as many trips as I can between work and kid’s sports/activities. Easier said than done.

Are you talking about an Alabama casting rig or a trolling umbrella rig? I sometimes use a Captain Mack's 9 jig umbrella rig for trolling when the stripers are spread out on Texoma and you need to cover water. Usually during the soawn time.
In the fall, bait is so easy to find that I just use live shad for stripers.

I use an 8 blade 5 jig umbrella rig for largemouth in the fall. I cast it in the channels, near docks, and off ledges. Targeting big large mouth that are feeding on shad.

I throw the Hog Farmer Tactical Bassin Mini Flex Rig, throw some 1/8oz jig heads on it and it'll throw super well on your jig rod

Gonna give the glide bait another try. I've had some followers but have never hooked one with the glide. I know I'd be fishing for 1 bite. But that bite may be the fish of a lifetime. I have the appropriate rod & reel and the bait. Just have to commit to it and not give up so easily.
Couple of years ago Ol' boy caught a 12+ lber on a glide in the lake I fish. In December.

The goal for me will be deciding if the action packed fishing of delacroix/venice outweighs the peace and tranquility of the deer stand.
Both are very fun

Going to give this bait finesse stuff a try. Maybe sell some spinning gear I have.

Wonder if Delacroix will get back to some semblance of former glory with the river being overall lower the past few years
*my fall goal will be to put more time and figure out a good flounder pattern prior to closure

Find 70-80 degree water.

Waiting for the first cool spell to get the fish to move inside at Delacroix.
