I've used plain old 10%+ ethanol gas in my ZTR for 13 years with no problem whatsoever related to the gas. Changed the carburetor in my Echo string trimmer after 10 years. Husqvarna chainsaw still cranks and runs just fine on it after 7 years. Generator also cranks on first start after 5 years, but I drain the carburetor after every use.

Mine has a lot of Ethanol statements on it approving the use up to some certain amount-not sure how much.

Absolutely. No E in Outboard of small engines at my house, including the mower.

I use aviation fuel for 2 stroke engines such as blower, weed-eater and chain saw and and yes ethanol free for ZTR.

I'm honestly contemplating one of the Kobalt 80V cordless electric mowers. So tired of rebuilding carbs and constant maintenance on my gas mowers.

Dang, I can't take care of shite, and my mowers have always started just fine. My Stihl trimmer did have problems though. Can't say for sure it was fuel.

I had a carb get stuck open in the middle of the season this year. Went to pull it and it was as flooded as flooded gets. Out of frustration, I pulled harder and cleared it. Well, still didn't start, so I rebuilt the carb. It smoked a bit, ran about 20 seconds then died. Intake full of oil. Blown head gasket.

if it was your car I can see you might have a question, but lawn equipt using what? maybe 2-3 gallons at a price difference of 25-30 cents???????????? why do you even need to ask?

always use "real" gas when its affordable and available, in a pinch, yes you can use 10% ethynol gas in anything as long as you don't leave it in there and you burn it all up or drain the tank after (never use e85 in anything you own)

i started buying the pre-mixed quarts at Home Depot. while it's prolly $20/gallon, not having to take my blower or weedeater apart every 4-5 months to get the gunk out makes it well worth the expense.

Lawmower-no
Weedeater-yes

I use the gas in the yellow can from Wal-Mart, its 92 octane, has the oil pre mixed and ethanol free. I have a $99 Wal Mart Special Weedeater that is 3 years old. All I've ever run was that gas and it starts great and runs like a scalded cat.

Ethanol fuel makes me rich off the carb rebuilds my shop sees.
80% of the issue are due to ethanol fuel.

If you use ethanol use a fuel stabilizer like true fuel.
If you can use non ethanol.
If you don't use the unit a lot use true fuel. It will run a lot better and less issues.

Please read the Bottle of oil if you mix your gas for two strokes.
Some bottles are for 2.5 gallon cans and others are for 1 gallon can.
A lot of people take the 2.5 gallon and mix it in a one gallon tank and wonder why their unit does not run. I pour out the gas and stick true fuel in and it cranks on the first try.

My Stihl trimmer runs much better since switching to TrueFuel. Probably costs around $15 per year.

What the hell are y'all buying that needs that kind of service that often? I have Echo and Stihl products that have years of E10 fuel mixes and never needed more than an air filter and spark plug every so often.

You can keep true fuel in a tank for awhile no carb issues. If you keep it sealed in a can it can last up to 2 yrs.

Basically the same fuel that those model race cars use. Southland in Shreveport use to make it.

80% of my services are due to ethanol damage. The ethanol eats up rubber seals and fuel line on trimmers. Big thing is it sits up the fuel separates and alcohol goes to work.

If you use the fuel a lot non ethanol ok.
Avg Joe that trims buys 1 gallon of fuel for two cycles, mixes the oil wrong, do not add stabilizer, and the can sits for awhile before it is used up. That guy better off with true fuel.

The guy that runs a grass cutting business he burns through fuel so fast it really does not matter.

Yes, riders and zero turns tested on the assembly line have jet fuel in them. Reason it evaporates after sitting up and does not cause a lot of carb damage. They put just enough to test them and get them on the crates to go to dealer.

No gasahol in small motors nor boat motors. All lawnmowers, weedeaters, side by sides get real gas. I'm sure I could get by with gasahol in the side by side but still don't. It just gums up those small engines.

Not only do I use ethanol free but I use super premium. My gas in the can last for quite a while so I buy premium because I know the octane will drop over the months. Also use a stabilizer. Not like it's a huge expense.

Same the fuel in the can is $4.50 or so a quart, I buy about 3-4 quarts a year. If you are using more than that just get a gallon can and add a small bottle pre measured 2 stroke oil to it.
