Funny story about breakfast in the blind I’ll try to make it short as possible..
I tried to talk my buddy out of it at first because we had a lot to do before daylight and he insisted so I got in the blind and started the biscuits as it got daylight (opening morning) we were shooting ducks and kind of forgot about them. Buddys say, how bout them biscuits as another buddy goes out after a cripple. Then says, why are u cooking with the flap down? It was a Colman stove and it was dark. I didn’t know the walls were made to go up. I had the walls folded down and the biscuits tasted like metal and paint. Then we tried to feed them to the dog he just licked all over them and turned away. We laughed and made a joke the dog wouldn’t even eat them. About an hour later we look over and the guy who had been out looking for a cripples was eating something. Just as I go to say your arnt eating those biscuits are you. He says these biscuits are good. We all about fell out the blind laughing.

Duck season opened in North Missouri zone this weekend. One guy brought his whole set up which included a portable griddle and he prepared breakfast while we put out decoys.

Sat. morning, we had breakfast burritos. Sun. morning, we had eggs, potatoes and white gravy. I used a tortilla and made another burrito and topped it with salsa and gravy!!

Duck hunting sucked and breakfast was great.

Used to keep a bag of charcoal and a hibachi in the blind, mid morning if things got slow we'd drop some sausage, porkchops, etc on there. I always have a coffee bottle and some granola, crackers, trail mix etc in my bag.

What time do y’all get out there to cook breakfast? I let to get set up about five minutes before shooting time. No time to cook breakfast. Plus, why would you want to have to take all that shite to the blind with you?

You want to hunt, hunt. You want to cook breakfast, stay at the camp and cook breakfast. But have that shite ready for when I get back lol.

7 Ps.

proper prior planning..... leave cooking equip in blind.

small cooler with the vittles,... tote the utensils.... cleanups a breeze..

it's easy.....

Maybe. I’ve never tried it. Went on a guided trip once that had a cook. It just seemed like an overall pain in the arse. How do you decide the baw that gets stuck flipping eggs while everyone else is folding greenheads?
