Several ponds in the area I used to wear fish out in. Most of them back in the woods. If only I would've had Google maps back then

Ever since this I have a bad taste in my mouth about trespassers. Have caught a few, but still tons of poaching a**holes.

People don't typically hunt their property lines that butt up to public land so going a few feet over the line isn't trespassing, they don't even want to hunt there. And as long as you're on the water you're not trespassing. Right? Maybe you did when you drug the boat to the water but that was in the past and there's no proof. And as long as my 4 wheeler doesn't tear the land up, it's not trespassing, they wouldn't even know I was there unless they saw me. So no, I don't trespass.

The law enforcement fellas that had it under surveillance came to our houses.....
And realized we had no ties to who cultivated it...

For whatever reason I was thinking the growers were guarding it, not a law enforcement investigation.

It doesn't get much lower than that.

Grew up around a lot of property with absent owners. So yeah, but only because I never saw or heard any sign of anyone being around and mostly just roamed around, didn't really seriously hunt or fish it.

Farmer used to chase us in his Blazer when we would ride 4-wheelers through his cane fields. It was a hell of a lot of fun.

I'm guessing he is talking about Jefferson Highway and I got popped by rat shot a time or two myself.
Fences and gates go up not only for reasons already listed but liability reasons. Had a kid trespassing on my property with his four wheeler, fell off broke his arm and sued me. And guess what? My insurance company gave the little frick $10,000.
Other than above cutting across Witters property from time to time, I've never trespassed nor had the need to. We have family property, I have property and many friends have property I can legally access so I've never had the need to anyway. I'm fortunate in those regards but I also am responsible for my actions and if I break an arm on a friends property I'm not looking for him to compensate me.
