$6 per acre is a great rate. We lease a couple million acres to hunters throughout the southeast and that's definitely on the extreme low end for Florida.

A great rate for 300 dog hunters maybe. Every animal on the place goes in a bunker at the beginning of the season. Jeez

I imagine the deer are like this when they hear that tailgate

I'm talking about the price of the lease from the fee owner, not the quality of hunting.

How much per year..$650

How many members..18

How many acres..2000

What State..NWLA

Are you happy with it. Yes

I'm in a fairly small club in NWLA. We only have around 2000 acres but it's not all 1 contiguous property so it seems bigger than it is, plus there are other pieces of property kind of locked in by some of our lease that we use as well. It's a long drive from Lafayette, but I have family up there that we stay with when we go. Each member can have 2 permanent stands and kids can hunt on my membership as long as they are in HS or College. I may get out once my son graduates college, but until then, for $650 I'll stay in.

There's a 135 acre tract that's not connected to the main property at all. My son and I are the only ones who hunt on it, so it's like we have our own little private spot.

Great group of local guys. I hunt mostly during the week and only had maybe 2 others on the lease a couple of times throughout the season.

10 minutes from my house makes it sweet.

No sir.. Almost all of those are Equity now, $500k on the cheap side buys you in, then its about $10k a year for up keep.

Funny story, a friend of mine just bought in to one of the island camps. A guest of his shot a 147 inch deer during bow season last year. 150 inch rule, he was suspended for all of 2021-2022, they are voting soon to see if they'll let him hunt this year!

I can see him explaining that one to his wife and the eye roll that followed “ I only needed 3 more inches”

There is or was a yearly option on at least one of the islands.

6k
6 members
600 acres
It has some very good deer but is hard to hunt due to the layout and access.
I am happy enough with it but I am a duck hunter at heart an d am just messing with these deer because the ducks have said F the south and migrating.

I tried the lease thing and couldn't do it. I ended up buying 40 acres and have 40 acres connected to my property that the owners let me use for hunting and I keep the place cut and keep poachers off. My place is north of Liberty, MS and on a dead end road. Its perfect with not a lot of pressure. I am buddies with the only other hunter within a few miles. I got very lucky with my situation.

I sure was not complaining about my Lease..
We got lot's of deer and hogs but it's Sand Hill country and poor soils so big racks are hard to come by.
I can shoot a bunch of Basket racked 6's and 8's...and a hundred Hogs.
Lot's of ducks as well but I don't mess with them.
As far as the Dog hunters...no worrys.
I have 9 Thousand acres of still hunt right behind my house that maybe 20 folks hunt and 400 acres that nobody hunts except me . It's a landlocked Club area that starts 100 yards from my front door.
