I have some Costa Blackfins I need to send back for warranty work and need some decent backups. Does anyone have a reccomendation for a decent pair of Polarized Glasses under $50, a huge plus would be if they were available on Amazon Prime.

Look like costas, feel lighter, grip my fatass 8 1/4 head better, and are $25

The only gripe with the Calcuttas is that they don't have a rubber nose piece so they start to hurt after a full day. I'm about to buy some Smith with the ChromaPop lenses and see what all the fuss is about.

I'm freshwater fishing so I am taking mine off periodically when I get under trees and such, so I don't have that issue

I got a big head too.... 7 1/2. Blackfins fit me the Best out of all the Costas I tried. Looks like the Calcutta Offshores are the closest thing to those.

Walmart actually has some decent fishing shades, they are in the sporting goods, not optical department.

I always buy a couple pairs of Van Dams, they are about $20.00 so if you break them, drop in the lake etc so what.

Calcuttas for me. Have a few different pairs/colors. Cheap to replace if i damage or lose a pair, which I've been known to do

The strike kings are not bad. They just dont hold up but they are only $20. Academy use to have them.

I recently picked up a pair of Smiths and they are incredible. I won't be going back to costas.

Bowies has Strike King. I agree, dont hold up to abuse, but @ $19.95, not a bad pair of temporary polarized glasses.

I'm a big fan of Suncloud.

Made by Smith as a lower end line, I've always been pleased. $50 if I remember correctly

I've used them both pretty extensively. IMO the Costa glass color rendering is "truer" than the Smiths, but I think the Smiths are better when it's overcast or the light is low. The Smiths are also much lighter than the Costas (poly vs. glass). I like the Smiths a lot, but wound up sticking with Costa 580G.

Check out Suncloud. Extremely good glasses for the price point and they’re a subsidiary of Smith Optics.

Ono's. They're online and about $50. They make large sizes. I've worn mine so much can't read the model.

Strike king and Booyah brand are surprisingly good for the price. Even if you go through a couple of pairs per season
