Only if that rabbit is from Caerbannog. Otherwise, this statement is dumb as frick.

Yes they CAN be dangerous. So what. Not gonna get rid of the breed altogether. Im more concerned with the renegade posters on here that would kill one for no reason.

So what? Them being a dangerous breed is the reason why many people do not want them anywhere near their children.

It is beyond absurd to me that pit owners refuse to admit that the breed is aggressive and can be dangerous. Why can you not admit this?

Because of the same reason you can't admit the opposite. You've grown up hearing the skewed facts and firmly believe their all evil. I've lived with one for 2 year and have only seen the fun loving, gentle and loyal qualities. I do readily admit that ALL animals can be dangerous.

Pretty widely considered to be one of the most dangerous breeds on earth, but damnit I want one.

I can admit that there are good pits. But if I'm not familiar with a pit, I'm going to assume it is dangerous.

I sure wouldn't have to hit crippled deer in the head with tree limbs anymore.

There are probably better breeds than that for the purpose.

I am not a renegade, maybe a noncomformist but not a renegade. However if your's or anyone else's Pit Bull strays onto my property and I feel it may try to harm me or what's mine I'm getting the 7mag not the BB gun. If you don't want noncomformists shooting your dogs then control your dogs. Unleashed is uncontrolled

Probably. I'll never own one. I'd like to see one work though.

Well then parents need to keep kids out the pit owners yard was the discussion that started on the OP.

I understand that there are bad owners bad parents and a potentially dangerous animal. All mixed together is recipe for disaster.

I recommended that we have a license to own one. Would weed out the people who shouldn't have one.

Kind of like how a buddy of mine had to take a test to own a falcon. And he had an apprentice for two years watch over him. I think this would lighten the number of horror stories.

Pit owners like to come in and post how sweet their pit is and expect people to thing that is the rule rather than the exception. That is not the case. I'd be willing to bet many a pit owner has made similar comments before their pit attacked another animal or person.

I would react the same way for any large breed. I have always leashed my dogs and dont respect anyone that doesn't.

When I was 13, I was at a friends house playing in the front yard. They had a pit and it had never bothered anyone. I'd been there plenty of times before, never showed any aggression. Then one day, me and my friend were playing in the front yard, and I guess she thought I was trying to hurt him or something because before I knew it she had me on my back and was biting my forearms. Luckily my friends Dad was right there to pull her off.

Just look at the OP's post:

quote:

she is probably the sweetest dog i have ever owned regarding her interactions with people. however, she will kill a strange dog or any animal quick like.

Willingly admits his dog will straight up attack and kill another dog or animal. That's not normal and it's not a sign of good temperament. But she's the "sweetest dog" when it comes to people.
