Cell phones in the deer stand

Depends on the hunt.. deer movement, how i feel about it. I always have my phone. But only actively goof off iff its a dead day, no movement.

I check TD, Facebook, and play words with friends every 30 minutes or so and glance around for deer movement while on it.

In the morning I usually get settled into the stand a good while before shooting light. I’ll play around on the phone until close to shooting times begin then I’ll put it away for a long time. I’ll grab it and read something periodically through the morning and put it down.

In the evenings I play on it as soon as I get there and taper off use as the day closes. Around 4:30 it’s usually put away for good unless someone texts me. We message each other on hunts a lot on deer sightings. I find that builds hope and confidence if I’m not seeing shite, to know someone else on the lease is watching deer at the same time.

Much of it has to do with the type of stand I’m hunting, (I use it more in a box vs a climber or ladder). If the weather is really good or it’s the rut or deer movement has been good lately I use it less.

I never see deer unless I’m frickin around not paying attention.

Two sons hunt together often. They use them to signal each other of approaching deer, when to leave the stand,etc. works for them.

I hunt in a box stand nowadays. I get up there with a playlist, coffee and a book

Chess all day! It has cost me deer before but it make sitting on stand for hours bearable.

Anyone found a good product to boost Iphone ATT signal strength in the stand? Cant find anything with good reviews online.
