Hope you all don't mind a bit of venting from a long time lurker and first time poster. I figured there would be no better time than now to de-virginize myself to the O-T.

Some winner invited himself into my truck last night to steal my wallet along with my favorite (and first ever) deer rifle. Needless to say, my faith in humanity is at an all time high today. As if the end of hunting season wasn't depressing enough.

On top of that, the officer who came out to file a report basically told me they could do nothing. So here's to the high class, outstanding member of society who is enjoying a couple hundred in cash and his newly-owned 30-06 with accompanying Leupold scope.

Damn that sucks.

The only gun I've had stolen was a Rossi snubnose. Some say he did me a favor.

Welcome Jim

We'll get the posse together. Downshift will bring the tracking dog.

Should,ve known not to leave a gun in the truck. Moisture could swell the stock and cause accuracy issues. I hope you weren't injured because I assume your wallet was in your pocket.

Where (Parish)?

I go to a lot of pawn shops looking for cheap guns. I'll keep a look out.

Model gun?

If the bastard would have only had the decency to steal it the night after I missed a 160 class deer two weeks ago, I may not have felt so bad.

This is why I don't understand when people say the police will protect everyone. The police don't protect shite. They show up after everything happens and write a report.

Because you are trying to apply logic to liberal thinking...

I had a Ruger 327 stolen from my truck last February in NOLA. Cop came out and took down wrong serial number. I had to speak to a lady at JPSO 3 times to get the right serial number to them. It was a clusterfrick.

Got a call from st Charles detectives about a month ago asking about the gun, when it was stolen etc. They couldn't tell me much but they said they knew who had it and wanted to confirm it was indeed my gun.

Haven't heard anything since but just know there are good police out there who are trying to do good by the citizens. Don't lose hope

I had my truck broken in to one night at work. Luckily I was walking back to my truck and apparently stopped the break in. I didnt know it at first because they took off. The got my radio but that was it. They tried to get my cds but they were in a velcro thing that held up long enough for them to give up since I was walking back to the truck. I guess the look out alerted them. I had a lot of cd's and a .38 and numerous other expensive items in there. The bull dyke that came out to get take report didn't give a shite about me or my belongings.
