With a scent free brand clothing like Scentlok?

Do you think by taking all the steps of washing with scent free detergent, air drying the clothing and keeping the clothing in an container you can have the same level of scent free?

I don't see why not. I'm with B&B, I bought my share of that carbon/charcoal clothing in the past but I think it's mostly marketing schtick.

you can do things to help yourself a little but "scent elimination" is horseshite

Wash your regular hunting clothes with an unscented detergent or plain water, take a shower and wash off the perfume you got all over you from the stripper up the road, and plan for the wind

I wash in baking soda then dry outside. I store in a hunters specialty bag.

If i remember, I spray dead down wind on my clothes before a hunt.

I keep clothes in a their own container. Beginning of year they get a wash in hot water and maybe some washing soda if I have some. Then I throw in a curveball and put the clothes through a smoke bath. Will "freshen" up the smoke periodically during the season by piling up some pine needles on way to stand and do a little dance in the smoke. YMMV

I don't think they care about all smells (laundry detergent, deodorant, etc.)

I think they recognize and give a shite about human body odor

I have seen bucks make scrapes on top of fresh human piss

That being said, hunt the wind. Keep everything clean and not smelling like sweat and BO and it'll be fine

Scent doesn't matter during the rut. Someone posted an article on here not long ago that you can pee off the stand, and it doesn’t scare deer off

I've had good luck this year using the scent free soap, spray when I get out of the truck and either hanging my cloths outside or putting them in a bag full of freshly snapped pine limbs.

Another thing is to get as high (up) as possible, 20ft at a minimum. Mine is 23 ft

I've had at least 20 deer feeding in my corn at 25 yards this year that never knew I was there.

Killed a nice 8pt at 35 yards that came in down wind

i wear scentblocker/scentlok, but not for the "scentfree" aspect. I find the quality of clothing is better and last me longer. I still hunt the wind b/c if a deer is downwind, whether you're wearing scentlok or walmart camo, he's gonna smell you. I also do not use scent away spray. My main opinion on that is that when its 32 degrees outside, its cold enough without drenching myself down and freezing even more lol. I wash my clothes with the ALL detergent (no scents or dyes), which is basically the same thing as the hunting detergents that you pay 4x more for. Also made an ozone closet a couple weeks ago. I do believe that helps kill odors. I keep all my camo hanging up in it, and before I take it out to put it on, turn on the ozone machine for 15 minutes. Works good for me and cheap compared to the expensive scentcrusher stuff.
