For the house you can use 2x2 and 1/4 plywood. No need for 2x4 and heavy plywood. Prefab the walls and roof then just a few screws to assemble once you have the base up. I would build them 4x8. Not much extra cost and can fit 3 easy when the kids go.

1. 6x6 base with a 4x6 box so that the ladder goes to a 2 foot balcony.

The balcony idea is great, seems safer as well.
Plenty of good ideas so far.
Planning for #1 & #2 is important.
I would probably close in the bottom for storage.
Sounds like a good time & plenty more ahead.

Just some ideas. Some have extra cost and not sure what you want to spend.

#3 angle the roof perpindicular to your main window so you don’t have rain “screening” your view / shot

#4 I would get indoor / outdoor rugs to cut. Otherwise mold and mildew will be a problem.

Look into manual car windows, either from junk yard or by new online. Get some plexiglass and mount them in the walls. This will be a very convinient way to open quietly and “just enough”. I’ve seen them mounted from the top so you can just crack window if needed.

Put shelves under windows to prop against. Lifesaver.

Measure the window height y’all need. Do not rely on online instructions. I have seen far too many be far to short for the angles and shooter height. Maybe

I would sheath the inside of the walls too (to box them in) and put installation in the walls. Not much, just enough to hold the heat.

For a ladder, I would suggest buying used contractor ladders or cheap aluminum, and not building out of wood. This is just a safety thing. Boards pull through nails, rot, come loose,...

Put up a sportsman condo this year that has the same bracket system, almost, anyway raising it is a bitch we almost lost it going up using a winch, the stand shifted and all the weight went to one leg and bent the bracket, was able to make it work and used the tractor and front end loader to get it up, be careful

With bracing, yeah I looked at trying to cut the 2x4s to fit snugly into the 4x4s but it would of been some crazy triple angles that were above my skill set, talked with the sportsman condo guys and said you do not need to, just use 3.5” deck screws and let it be, go back on their website and look at the pictures and that is how they do it too

Good luck, have fun

Why? I either open the door and pee or flop it out the window and pee. I still see deer and kill them. They still walk right underneath me at times.

It seems the website shows how to solve the issue - they ran bracing diagonally from one corner to the other where the 2x4s will fit flush against the legs. Looks like an easy solution. Plus we’re only making them about 8 feet tall so the legs won’t be super long.

This whole set up is above the bare-minimum. He's talking about having a propane tank and a permanent heater and the small hole with a funnel is what gets you? It's an extremely simple solution to problem we all have.

Using the elevators, run a 2x4 around the bottom of the 4x4’s about a foot off the ground then X brace the 4x4’s as well. Will help to sturdy the stand, strengthen it for raising and keep the 4x4’s from twisting. If you can get your hands on some fiberglass grating I would use that for your balcony platform instead of plywood which will be the first to rot on the stand. Some form of drip edge for the windows. Keep the corners closed off at least a few inches. Cut rubber mats and install on the window edge where your gun will sit when aiming. May want to insulate the roof some kind of way. When the tin ices over and you fire up the heater it will sweat and feel like it’s raining inside that box. Paint the inside at least above the windows line black it helps break up your movement inside. I’ve heard if you paint the roof baby blue on the inside it helps keep wasps out, probably a myth lol. Good luck with, building stands are always fun projects.

I had an issue with getting through a tight space 2 years ago with a stand.
I ended up building the base on site and making 4 modular walls out of 2x2's and OSB sheathing.
The walls were easy to get up with 2 people.
The whole stand was assembled in my shop at home and then disassembled with 2 screws in each corner joint.
When we got them on top of the platform I just zipped the screws back in and put a couple through the bottom of the walls into the platform.
The stand is very solid and one of the nicer ones at our lease.

We ended up having to move this stand last year and it was a piece of cake to disassemble again and move it over.

I was proud of my camo job

You still want to line the lower parts of the wall with some thing to kill sound when the kiddos kick or bump it.

Shelves are really handy as are hooks for packs and grunt calls etc.

Here’s an update after 2-3 hours of building.

Got the base together. Since the plywood sheet was already 4x8 we just kept that as the size to do the 4x6 with the balcony.

So we started with the corners and measured out to make sure the plywood platform was flush.

Then we added some 2x4 bracing vertically and horizontally.

We used 3 1/2” torx-head wood screws to secure the bracing on the sides and through the plywood base.

Daisy was our model dog for the photo shoot.

Nice work.

FYI: On the first picture, I’d cover up the license plate on the van.
