I have the Buckmark. I’ve had that gun for a long time. Probably 25yrs or more. Love it. I put a tactical solutions barrel on it so it would take a suppressor. It’s crazy light with that barrel.
My brother and now nephew has a Ruger Mk1 or 2. That gun is amazing.
You may also want to consider the new S&W Victory.

I have one of each—11 year-old son prefers the Buckmark

Here’s another vote for the Ruger. If I couldn’t disassemble and reassemble a gun I owned I wouldn’t tell it. The Ruger isn’t bad to take apart and will dump squirrels.

Couldn't find a Buckmark locally today, so I just rented a MkIII. Will pick up the search next week

I've got three. Had four.
First, the Smith. It's a jamomatic and it shouldnt even be sold.
The Browning is by far the best shooting. It is shockingly accurate. Shoot match sticks accurate.
The ruger is...adequate.
The beretta neos is cheap. Fun to shoot. And I've never had a jam. Accurate. But not insanely so like the Browning.
If I only had one, the Browning. If I had two, the beretta over the ruger.

Same here. My best shooting buddy also has a Buckmark. When we shoot I usually use my Ruger to compete with him.
The results are always the same, there is no discernible difference between the two, each is dead nuts accurate and reliable.

Yup. I'll try and make a stop by when I get some time

I’ve had both. I prefer the ruger

FWIW, that clip loader works with the buckmark and the ruger. So get one either way. You can load mags 3x faster.

Been happy with Buckmark

I’ve owned the Ruger shown in a previous reply.
I replaced the trigger parts with volquartsen.
Buy the buckmark

I grew up shooting a Ruger Mk2 before I could even pull the bolt back by myself. I love that pistol and still shoot it every now and then. That being said my brother picked up a Buckmark a few years back, it seems to be a better pistol in almost every aspect.
Funny thing is my brother just bought the Ruger 22/45 and loves it more lol. He bought the Ruger to use a 22 can on it.

I fail to see what's funny? My 30 year old buckmark shits all over both the neos and ruger. And that was before the trigger upgrade.
Purely from an accuracy standpoint.
The ruger is a fine gun.

Just picked up the Buck Mark Plus Rosewood UDX tonight. Out-the-door price was $556, and I just put in for a $75 Browning rebate, so it'll end up being $481. More expensive than a few of my other nicer guns, but I keep my guns forever, so I'm not sweating it.
Buying a gun from Academy was a huge PITA. It was also the first time I've been delayed a purchase. It sucks that I'm gonna be moving in and out of hotels for a while. Just won't have the time to go shooting as often as I used to

I've have a Challenger II that I picked up in the late 70's from Steinberg's...
thing shoots where you look...
kinda pre-cursor to the Buckmark...
