Correct. Plenty of other quality brands to get.

Hornady out of Nebraska.
Federal out of Minnesota.
Winchester (Olin) out of Illinois - currently moving production to Mississippi.

And a host of other ammo manufacturers.

Almost every gun I own is a Remington. Guess I need to find a new brand.

Remington, along with several other companies, is owned by The Freedom Group (who you may remember is being spun off of Cerberus Capital because they too are pussies.) So, we can't just boycott Remington, but all the brands they own:

Advanced Armament Corporation
Barnes Bullets
Bushmaster Firearms International
Dakota Arms
DPMS Panther Arms
H & R Firearms
Marlin
Mountain Khakis
Para USA[5]
Parker Gunmakers
Remington Arms
Remington Military
Remington LE
Remington PMPD
TAPCO

The only one that hurts is AAC. I have an AAC silencer bought, just waiting for the Federal Government's approval.

Damn, I didn't even know about this. Do you have a link? That's awesome. Bring em on down south.

And in regards to Remington ammo, that company is entirely different. Ammo has been produced in Arkansas for a long time. The gun manufacturers in New York are the ones responsible. I'm pretty sure they're two different companies.

The U.S. Army has awarded the Olin Corp. the contract for its upcoming small-caliber ammunition needs, an order that is expected to see production run from now until August 2014. Production will take place at Winchester’s East Alton, Illinois, facility.

This may be one of the last production runs of this type at Winchester’s Illinois plant, as they are currently in the process of moving their ammunition manufacturing facilities to Mississippi along with about 1,000 jobs. Winchester plans to be moved out of East Alton by 2016.

Sux doesnt it? Now if you want to build another rifle of equal accuracy you have to buy actions from surgeon or accuracy international which cost 4-5 times what Remington actions cost.

As a lot of you know, I've been a Remington fanboi for a long time. The 700 and 870 are just flat out great designs.

But that's it for me. They've lost one of their biggest fans and I just let them know it. And I'll be recommending everyone else follow suit. Buy nothing new from Remington till they show they've learned their lesson.

I'm not selling my guns, and I won't mind buying used, but they won't get another dime from me if they don't accept they fricked up bigtime.

I haven't bought S$W since they caved to Clinton either.

These folks need to understand, don't bite the hand that feeds you. We'll protect you from the government. But if you turn on us and collaborate, you get what you deserve.

i own several 870's and a few rifles but I will no longer buy anything remington including ammo.

there is so many other gun and ammo manufactuers that its really not that big of a deal for me to no longer buy or support remington.

All you yahoos are trying to do is guarantee that the NY lawmakers put a gun maker out of business.

bullshite. Theres pleanty of gun friendly states that would gladly welcome them. They chose to accept a government contract in lieu of moving which they had been hinting at. They chose one customer over the rest of us. If thats the way they want it, fine they made their bed, now they have to lie in it. Btw Magpul, Truglo, Winchester, and Beretta are doing just fine.
