Great way to persuade people to agree with you.

If Remington goes out of business other gunmakers will make up the difference.

Damn damn damn...

I decided to wait and make up my mind between a 30.06 and 7 mag on this with this. With mounts I was looking at around $650.- $700....

Any OBer have some good suggestions on what would be a similar quality rifle for a similar price I should buy instead? I don't want to reward Remington for selling out, but I also want to buy a new hunting rifle to familiarize myself with before hunting season... and while they are still at springtime prices. I really wanted a 700 and that ABL with xpro trigger at that price seemed like a really good deal.
Y'all please advise me... I trust the OB's opinion a whole lot. Thanks guys, in advance.

The Winchester model 70 seems to be one of the comparably-priced deer slayers around here.

My dad's favorite deer rifle is his trusty ole Win model 70 in .270. He has killed many a deer with that beast.

Thanks Bapple and Nodust... Guess I'll need to fork over some more $$ ... Sometimes principle is worth paying for, and I believe this is one of those times. I'll have to check out bothe the Winchester and the Weatherby... I'll post what I end up buying.

I just read that the city of New Rochelle,NY banned a veterans group from flying the Gadsden flag (Don't Tread On Me)because it's deemed offensive... I guess NY isn't stopping with the second amendment, they want to tread on the first as well.

Unless something changes, Remington will be dead to me. If they had made a statement, or something along the lines of, "We are staying in NY because of our loyalty to our longtime employees and our tradition in the community, that we feel we should not make drastic decisions because of a few temporary elected officials grandstanding," I might be sympathetic to them... but they didn't.
