Spend more on the glass

I like the browning for no apparent reason

They have 3-4 Vanguard specials like that which are great buys. I personally am not a fan of how the Tikkas feel so I like the Bergaras and Weatherby's over them.

Bought a tikka 7mag this year. Love it. 1/2” MOA with hand loads. Great trigger, smooth action, all around great gun

I like my weatherby after Timney trigger upgrade

Have two Tikka t3x superlites, 6.5 and 300wm, both bad arse rifles straight out of the box. Would highly recommend.

What gun/model is that?
I agree with you on this...

Tikka is a superior rifle with less of your dollar going to marketing. Put the savings toward glass and ammo.

Howa 1500 / weatherby vanguard is a better rifle than the tikka for your money.
3 position safety, no shitty plastic clip, better trigger, better action.

If you like a 2 stage sure. The action is not better. Tikka action is superior.

I tried to do a little research on the trigger on the tikka rifles and guess I wasn't looking in the right places.
I'm assuming the tikka has an adjustable trigger. What will it adjust down to and is making that adjustment user friendly?

Nope. Owned a few of both, shot a whole bunch of them. The howa is better.

How is the tikka better?
The howa has:
An action appropriate for the cartridge length
Flat bottom
Integral recoil lug
Generous loading port
No plastic
Is a fully corrected remington 700
The tikka has:
A long action for everything with different bolt stops
A round bottom
Sammiched shitty little recoil lug
Lots of plastic
Is a well finished ruger American
The tikkas all shoot good, but their fan fare is very much undeserved at their current price point. When they were cheap they were a good buy. Now they cost as much as some much nicer proper rifles. Model 70, howa 1500, wby vanguard, Cz 550, list goes on
They got popular because they were cheap and shot great. Now they are not cheap, and everything on the market shoots great. Basically anything is a better choice at $800+
Eta: I just looked and midway has a T3 lite listed for $9 less than a model 70 featherweight. Thats laughable. $900 for a basic tikka is ridiculous.
From the little I've seen of the very expensive nosler rifles, they sure look a lot like a howa 1500

Tikka T3x in my opinion.

Adjustment is super easy with an allen key. You can go all the way down to 2 lbs if I remember correctly. It's a feather when pulling back.

I like Tikkas, but at the $800 price point you reference they aren’t as attractive. I’ve never spent more than $600 one one.
ETA: Bud’s has 6.5 CM in stock for $650, so maybe there’s some cherry picking going on.

I’ve been extremely happy with mine, accurate, smooth action, and really like the finish - its kind of non-slip feeling

Savage 110/Thread
Its advanced engineering AccuTrigger, floating bolt head and a barrel nut allows for precise headspacing.
The fact that it isn't mentioned more in this thread, especially with people giving a fricking list, means that people are either name whores, or just haven't shot enough. Nothing against the names listed, but if you were to shoot the 110 it would definitely be at the top of everyone's list.

Yea and it looks like midway has as much as $100 price variation for a given model in different calibers. At $650 its more palatable, but that is the same price as a basic vanguard which IMO is a far better built rifle.
