I'm about to add another rifle and stuck between a few choices. Looking for recommendations based on personal experience.

Tikka. I would add the Savage 110 Timberline.

Someone close to me just bought a bergara and trigger is exceptional right out of the box. Haven't handled a tikka personally but have always heard good things about them.

A little over 1000 but just bought a Savage ultralight 110. It comes with a proofvresearch carbon fiber wrapped barrel. It’s a game changer. Weighs only 5.8 lbs. It’s super accurate. Mine is in .308. My 14 yr old son was dinging 8” steel at 200 yard the other day with it. Stock is also adjustable for length of pull. My trigger is 3lbs.

You can get short action or long action calibers.
Paired mine with a Trijicon Credo 2.5-15-42.
Back country model

I would be pissed with any rifle that could not do that

I understand guy but was pointing out my 14 yr old son was doing it. I can shoot.75” group with it at 100 and ding steel with it at 500.

Tikka is bad arse out of the box. I haven’t shot a Bergara, but Tikka and Bergara feel really similar to me in the store.

I think I’m going to buy a Bergara here in the next couple weeks and use it as the gun I keep under the seat all year for coyotes and hogs around the farm.

My tikka shoots 1/2" groups right out of the box with nosler ammo. With hand loads, 1/3" all day long. Set 1" high at 100yds, dead F-ing bullseye at 200. CRISP trigger.

Eta: the tikka forest is light as a feather, the CZ has some weight.

Also have a CZ 557, didn't see it mentioned. Good rifle, well made, adjustable trigger. Groups sub-MOA with S&B ammo and nosler accubonds. The trigger had a little creep out of the box that was easily fixed.

Tikka for manageable recoil calibers…. it’s a mule in the big boys.
Bergara for everything else… it’s hard to beat Bergara fit that price tag.

This was my exact 4 that I was between.
After lots of looking I rank them
Bergara
Browning
Tikka
Weatherby

The tikka is all around the best gun but I cannot get past the fact that you have to take the safety off to operate the bolt to unload the chamber after every hunt. That’s a deal breaker to me, so I’ve settled on the bergara

Soooooo many great options out there these days. What do you want? Wood/blued? Modern tactical looking rig? Ultralight backcountry rifle? Heavy bench rest rifle?

Begarra or tikka
I currently have both one in 308 and one in 6.5 they are both tack drivers and have equally smooth actions and triggers.
Prolly will buy another rifle after hunting season possibly 6.5 prc or even a long action caliber and it’s a toss up on if it’s gonna be a begarra or tikka. I like the fact that beg is a rem action clone and has more aftermarket pieces and parts for it. But the tikka is bad azz as well.

Another thought. The Vanguard meat eater edition rifle. Comes with fluted barrel and tungsten cerakote. 2 stage trigger.

Sold by sportsman’s warehouse but you can look on secondary market as well.

Ruger or Tikka are all you need. Spend the money on the scope.
I have a Ruger 247 that a buddy borrowed few years ago for his sons hunt. When he gave it back to me he told me never ever get rid of that gun. when sighting in scope at 100 yards it nailed the bullseye, then he shot it like 5 more times and couldn’t see it hitting anything so got range guy to help and they realized it was going through the same exact hole every single time. Just for fun they did it at 150 and 200 yards. It was as accurate as his 10k competition rifles.

My Ruger 30 06 has never missed. I have made some bad shots but can’t blame any on my rifle.

Spend your money on the scope. Your eyes and body are the weak link in any rifle hunting combo
