The pond behind Pennington is loaded. White buzzbait at night. Listen for the hit.

White Oak Landing

If you can not get run off.

If security shows up, pretend you are deaf and give them some fake mumbo jumbo sign language.

Great place to float a dark colored inner tube in and fish with fins on your feet. No one will catch you at night time in there.

I’m glad the ponds are finally producing, cuz I fished them hard in the 90s, and there wasn’t much there back then.
Lake Sherwood was hot back then, though.

Easily the biggest sac-a-lait I’ve ever caught.

Also pulled a few big bass out of there in the 90s, including a 7.

There's a pond off Essen Lane by I12 behind that tower if you wanna go catch a few. I don't think there's even security but not sure how pressured it is either.

I’ve had some luck at those condos off Ben Hur by LSU. I’ve heard people have had luck at Women’s hospital. It sucks cause there’s a ton of ponds but most are private and people will run you off (which I get). Just want to wet a line and catch and release but there’s jackasses who will take every decent fish out of a pond to eat.

Not a pond but a canal that dumps into the pond at Greenwood park in Baker. Lavey Lane near Hwy 19. Park at the strip mall by Baskins Robbins and fish the canal between the shopping center and residential area. A 6” black with blue tail Texas rigged plastic worm will catch the hell outta 10-12” bass every afternoon about an hour before dark. I did this after work every spring and summer at least twice a week. Also the pond behind Mike Anderson’s on Lee Drive has some hammers but you have to be stealthy and sneak through the brush from Nickolson to not get busted there. Any Topwater noise making lure with a white belly will produce violent strikes all summer there. Good luck and let us know how you fared.

It’s usually not about the fish, like a neighborhood by mine that got sued because some clown slipped and fell.
And people want their privacy, heck some HOA don’t even let their residents fish

Yeah I definitely understand. You can’t have every goober loitering in the neighborhood so they can fish. And that’s why you can’t fish at Pennington the security guard told me it was for liability reasons

I used to live off Ben Hur at what was called the cottages. The pond over there was loaded with bass and sac a lait.
KVD red eye shad lipless crankbait was my weapon of choice.
My biggest went around 5.
I’m not sure how easy it is to get back there now and not be runoff.

I used to live near Pennington and got run off bc some old hag that was walking called security on me.
I caught a few each time but nothing to write home about.

Thanks everyone. I have tried White Oak before but got ran off. Tried floating around the public park ponds but never found any. Will try White Oak again after this weather clears

I also lived at the cottages it’s called something else now and the fishing was awesome. Caught fish pretty much every spot. It was fun going to the back near the woods and fish. Saw deer back there a couple of times. Now it’s a neighborhood unfortunately. Across the street the woodlands has a really small “pond” that had some bass in it too. The new two new complexes on Ben Hur each have a pond too but idk about them.

Caught an 11-8 in the wedgewood pond in the 80s. She’s still in there hopefully! Biggest bass I’ve ever seen in person.
