Was looking to pick this one up, but wondering if the regular Nova is just as good...do any of y'all have any thoughts on this?

Would be used for occasional dove/turkey hunting, as well as trap.

Thanks in advance for your service.

Either one is perfectly fine and as reliable as the old 870s.

Never actually shot the nova, but I think the only difference is the beefed up stock and enlarged trigger guard on the super.
I’ve put my supernova through the ringer and it did everything I asked of it.

Either. I have multiple 3.5” guns and never shoot 3.5 though. Those Novas are about as durable and reliable of a gun as you can buy though. Look like an old laser tag gun, but are amazing.

I bought a small frame 20 gauge Nova years ago for my wife. I’ve killed limits of ducks with it myself. I love that gun.

Got 1. Absolutely love mine. I put it thru hell and beyond crawling geese, shooting ducks and doves, and even shot a couple deer with it. Its as smooth today as the day I bought it. Pro tip- get the kick reducer tube installed in the stock if your going to shoot a bunch of 3" and 3.5" shells.

I own three SuperNovas.

Same gun. Three of them.

No other reason than I like them, never had a problem with them, and they won’t break the bank.

I have the nova, I don't use it much because I use o/u on sporting for most of my shooting but I do like it.

I shoot occasional 3.5", and keep a few by the bed in case stuff gets wild in the neighborhood.

If I remember correctly the Supernova has the shock absorbing chevrons in the stock and maybe a different trigger guard.

I shot 1500 shells through my Nova without cleaning or failure. I was going to continue shooting it until it failed but I was loaning it to a buddy and didn't want it to malfunction while he had it so I cleaned it before letting him take it.

I have since upgraded to a Beretta A400 because I'm now old and soft but the Nova has serviced me well.

I have used it for ducks, sea ducks, clays, upland game, rabbits, squirrels, everything. You cannot go wrong by purchasing one.

Yep, those are the only differences besides price.

Have a Super Nova and love it. Ugly and heavy as a treated 2x4 but it is awesome.

Either model will serve you well.

I got a nova 12 I'll sell you if you want. Prolly needs a good cleaning. I don't duck hunt anymore and I shoot 20 ga for everything else.

I have a Nova that shoots 3-1/2" as a back up shotgun. Its my "bad weather" gun. Its a tank. The last year i had a duck blind, i used it as much as my A300. My A300 is wood stock, my Nova is black synthetic. Cant frick that gun up lol.
