Mandarin beats wood IMO. My parents have a pair in a pen at home.That rear yellowish fan looking feather is one piece which i thought was weird.

I submit the white cheeked pintail for review.
True story, my family was in San Antonio for my nephew's graduation from Air Force basic training and we went to Sea World. There is a duck exhibit populated with all kinds of various duck species (where I saw the white cheeked pintail), and we were all standing around admiring them. A group of squealers swooped in and landed in the middle of the exhibit, and my dad very loudly yelled, "Look! Mexican squeelers!" Keep in mind we were in San Antonio. We got a whole bunch of mean looks as we slowly backed away from the exhibit.

ive shot a few harlies. To me they are better looking, but from photos its hard to gauge their size. they are really small, like a chunky teal, or a buffy.

Wood duck between the two. The Mandarin or "Woody from the East" is the prettiest overall.
