I wasn't really talking about clothing. I know the importance of good, quality clothing. Although there are certainly some gimmick brands out there.
I was mostly talking about gear and gadgets.

Yep, the cheapest stuff is usually a waste of time, the most expensive is almost always a waste of money. Gotta find the sweet spot for your budget. Online reviews really help in filtering through the marketing bullshite. The most heavily advertised products are rarely the best.
