BR - got generator on the house, so sans flooding and tree damage we should be good.

Praying for everyone in the path - no tree damage and no flooding!!

New Orleans checking in. My house doesnt flood, thankfully. No lines at pumps near me and the streets are calm. I wish we could block the people from coming back in.

Covington here. Several friends left and a few more asking if they should. For now we stayin’. Just put 1/4 cow in the freezer last month so we wont run out of food. I think northshore loses power but hopefully we dont have many trees down.

Engineer, is any of the old pass a loutre lighthouse still out there?

Yes, the lighthouse is still there. It's out in open water though. Haven't been right up to it in about 5 years but we were about a mile from it last weekend. The tower is still there.

I already did.

Followup question, where are those pics coming from? What about pics of what the chief described as the island being cut in half?

got to be a drone or flight of some kind

i believe this is on the east end of the island looking east. Looking west would show the cut in the island and the damage more to that side. if i had to guess the cut is somewhere between cherry and capital lane based off the geography of the area there.

My house is in thibodaux, but I was forced into work. I rode it out at a plant in gramercy. I only looked outside our brick shite house here once and I can assure you it’s the worst storm I’ve ever been through. The wind sounded like a damn demon through these cinderblocks.
