Took my nieces to the zoo today. Can't stop thinking about how many neck roasts I could make from one of them.

Found this

quote:

One Montana-based business called Giraffine claims to sell live animals as well as meat, which its website describes as “intensely flavored lean meat; It tastes very similar to horse meat but more tender.” A call to Giraffine was not immediately returned.

I'm in. Horse is delicious.

It’d be interesting to hear a butcher break down what would probably be the best cuts of a giraffe.

I’d think the neck would be tougher, slow cooking type cuts.

Friend of mine shot one with a bow in Africa. Has it mounted in his unreal trophy room (house). He said it was delicious. Said the locals divvy it up and everyone eats good for a week.

Funny thing, I was at the zoo today with my niece and I was thinking the same exact thing.

I've worked all over Africa for 10 years. I don't want to know what some of the stuff I ate was.

That took about as much skill as shooting a cow. I lived in Kenya, and walked within 15-20 feet of giraffes many times.

Would any shoulder shot be considered "high shoulder"?

I'll see myself out...

I never mentioned anything about his skills. Or shooting a cow.

.50 BMG vs. Jeffery

Start at the 10min mark. Put a nice shot on it but scopes his forehead

Not a huge fan, but then again, you watch one get skinned and it looks like a horse. Maybe that was my turn-off.

I have eaten giraffe. It is good. My favorite African plains game animal though going away is Kudu.
