I don't remember it getting this cold this early over the past couple of years. hopefully we should get big bunches of grindings that we have been lacking the past few years down in the marsh for opening weekend. Anyone seeing any birds out there?

I've been hearing specklebellies from my deer stand the last two weekends in NWLA. Saw a flight of about 2 dozen specks last Friday cruising over Toledo headed towards SWLA.

I was in Lafitte this past Friday. It's been a long time since I've seen that many ducks.

Flew from ATL to HSV the other day and the guy sitting next to me was showing me pictures of moose up in Fairbanks, AK...and then pictures of a snowstorm. They are getting a pretty good snow up north already in some places...might push some birds south.

I've been seeing nothing but green and pintails at Toledo Bend. Me and Coach.

I fished Toledo Friday all day like I said. I saw one group of 6 teal, and about 2 dozen specks in the stratosphere.

So, about par for a Toledo hunt.

Absolutely! I hunt around Waterproof and yesterday and today while on my deer stand I've watched flock after flock fly overhead. About an hour ago while cleaning one of my honey hole duck blinds I had mallards, widgeon and pintails landing almost on top of me.

I'm pumped guys. Praying we have at least some decent weather this hunting season. We're due for some.

Yeah I have it on good word that there are more speckle bellies already down around Lake Village as of a week ago then any other year for October people can remember.

Well how does that bode for my trip after Christmas? Will there be any food left?

Also, we are about to get 3 major fronts in a row. The last one being massive with extreme cold temps to canada and middle of country

Seen a 60-80 acre field around Eudora Saturday that couldn't hold another speck in it. Never seen that many in a field in October around here

A source I know told me 20K plus on Baugh/Winemiller farms as of a week ago around LV. I saw the pics but apparently deleted them.
