Been working Gueydan / Lake Author area the last 2 weeks, seeing a little bit of everything, especially this week, that big front Sunday delivered.

Never seen so many geese fly over in Washington Parish saw 100 or so specs in one group and two groups of 200 plus snows. (WP is not in a main flyaway). I just went outside to my truck to get my skoal and sat on the tailgate and listened to geese for 15 minutes untill I got cold. Fall has arrived and so have the birds! I might not be able to sleep tonight.

Hear a few bands this morning flying over. They were flying north towards the Mississippi River. Low river= sand bars and the birds stack up out there.

Lower Pointe Coupee parish.

Fricking teal were all over the lake yesterday right before the wind came up. Blue wing mostly.

Walked outside this morning to a flock of about 500 geese flying over Ponchy coming from Manchac. Had some Specks mixed in. Then I get to school and there were Greenheads flying over. I couldnt believe it

That's good to hear, as our lease is in that area. Going to the camp this weekend to work on the blinds. Looking forward to finishing the blinds, seeing some birds, eating good food, drinking good whisky and watching football. Fall has arrived!!

I'm pumped guys. Praying we have at least some decent weather this hunting season. We're due for some.

Did you not hunt last year?

I hunted last year. It was cold for three days last year.

In central MS we had one day where it went into the mid teens and the high was about 34 or 35. It was decently cold the day on either side of that.

That was winter for me.

I was on Toledo Bend Saturday there was your typical early wood duck flights headed to the backs of creeks in good numbers, then the blue wings started buzzing shallow points with grass. Seen a few flocks 3 of what looked to be red heads or Scuap was at a good distance. 2 different flocks of Candians. The local home birds that stay around from Yoakum to Boones and then another decent flock of about 25. Sky high flights of Snows blues and specks headed south maybe 6 or 7 all day.

This is the best multi week stretch of preseason weather I can remember. Flyway is very dry and we've been getting legit fronts. Very optimistic over here, baws

This time last year it was hot all the way to dakotas

This is where I was one week ago today. Lloydminster, Alberta. Very mild weather there now. Highs in the 40s and lows in the upper 20s. Then, starting next week the demons appear. There are literally millions of birds in that area of the Canadian Prairie right now. Starting one week from today, they are going to need new accommodations.

Dove hunted today around Klondike.

Not many dove but saw lots of Specks driving through Thornwell and then again Klondike/Gueydan area.
I also saw snows at both areas. Not many but some.
I don't recall seeing snows this early.

IIRC, 2 years ago I hardly saw a snow goose until Thanksgiving.
