******************* Another Update *******************
I got the 270

Sorry I started another "What caliber is better" argument...

******************* End Another Update *******************

******************* Update *******************

They have the 270 and 30-06 in stock now... Even though I've never hunted for a deer I'm partial to 270 cause that's what my dad used...

So NOW which one would the OB pick???

******************* End Update *******************

If that was the two calibers you had to choose from which one would you pic for deer hunting and why?

.308. No reason to put up with the mag recoil for deer.

That's kinda my thought too. I'm not looking to shoot a deer at 500 yards...

neither, 30-06 cuz it is right between the 7mm and 308, can kill anything in north America with the proper choice of bullet...

30-06 not available... At least at the deal I'm contemplating...

204 Ruger,
308,
7mm Rem Mag

Those are the 3 available calibers.

$299 after rebate. Comes with a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 and rings... That's $250 just in scope and rings...

12 days before the sale ends... May wait a little while and see if they get the 30-06 back. I'd prefer that.

Why not get both? if you decide you don't like one, sell it. I'm sure you can get your almost all your money out of it.

I'd rather the .308 over the .30-06.

.308 vote for me.

My brother has a 7mm mag. It is not that pleasant to shoot.
