This is pretty much every trip I've had in the last few years when on the inside

I'm certainly not a daquiri guy by any means but that dang thing is like ice cream with a butt load of liquor in it. There is a 100% chance our group will partake in more than one. I'll have one too but I'm more of a beer and brown liquor guy in my old age.

I know there has been some confusion here, but you mentioned island. We will be in Cocodrie.

Ahh. I missed that. All good. But hey, they make a killer one at Coco Marina too.

Kemo - it tastes like a chocolate shake from Wendy's that will cross your eyes

When the water starts dropping and the storm minnows pull out, it will be on fire.

The reports here are what most are seeing over the past week. The fishing has been abysmal. Fisher all over the islands our of Cocodrie on Sunday and was the worst I've done in several years.

I figured Fri and Sat would be good but was unable to get out there

Did you see the pogey boats? My last time out there early Aug, they passed all over us

I was down there for swollfest. There were a few boats that got on them pretty good.

Go to Native Island Daiquiris next to Starfish and order a Bushwhacker with a top shot of Crown Chocolate. And after a few of those kick your arse go back the next morning and ask Leo to make you a Bloody Mary to get you right.

I stay in the campground at Bridge Side and the guys I know that live in their campers down there in May and June told me last weekend it’s the worst it’s been in years. Weather has sucked and they’ve struggled. I’ve only been able to get offshore twice, not counting the 36 hr with the DTB guys.

It was a bucket list trip for me. Went way out West. 6 of us had 27 grouper, our 24 snapper, 3 Barrelfish, 3 Queens, and an assortment of Porgys, Almacos, Rock Hinds, and such. We’ve eaten white meat all week. Planning to go again next year.

Boss booked office with chauffeur trip on his boat weekend of swollfest. Thursday was 35 Vermillion and 15 red snapper for 6. Friday was 55 Vermillion, 15 red snapper, couple cobia, some chicken dolphin and a couple almaco jack for 6. Saturday took a few friends out myself for 30 Vermillion, 20 red snapper and a cobia for 5.

That’s a good boss! We haven’t made it out to our favorite Vermillion spot yet, we’ve caught our snapper in closer. We struggled with them last year after stacking the box with some hammers in 2024. Reefs/wrecks, or natural bottom features? The spots we fished on our long range trip just weren’t showing many, and we were grouper focused anyway.
