Rigs and Reefs, first time I have actually heard of someone targeting them specifically. Have caught a few while red snapper fishing, but never caught more than a couple.

Seems like those guys are pretty damn consistent too with trips like that. What depth range were you guys fishing for the queens/barrels in?

Same here, but the last couple of times out we'd had issues with vermillions stealing bait before we could get past them for red snapper, last time out I setup a chicken rig with some smaller hooks and was bringing them up every single drop, sometimes 2-3 at a time.

We had one of our best trips ever Friday. Five man limit by 10, and I was able to avoid live shrimp the whole time. Also enough whites for a lunch fry. Caught multiple doubles which I have not done in decades. Had shark issues though. Saturday was rougher and we didn't have as clear of water. Bounced around instead of one hot spot and only had 37.

We got out 2 man limit Friday, but had to wait on outgoing tide to get it.

Got in surf twice and never saw another boat. Only 1 fish on topwater in the afternoon there. Just too rough to fish it

Did our damage in Pelto. Did yall head more east toward Timbalier?

Damn that's awesome. We did well also but had to work a little harder than yall.

Saturday the guide took us out to West Champagne Island (?). Marker 54 shrimplette under a cork. Caught 3 shorts to 1 keeper but it was still fun. Came back to Independence Reef and got into some really nice trout on the bottom. I think we ended up with about the same amount but felt like we caught a hundred.

Bushwackers were had. Both nights.

Our best day was on one structure pretty much straight South. We tried that Saturday for a bit then headed East. Prettier water there, but just couldn't get consistent bites.
