You open to any 2011’s? Also what’s your budget?

Just something reliable...

Heard not good things regarding Kimbers...

2011's are likely more than I need.

Not sure if STI still has a good reputation?

Springfield Armory makes a fine 1911, I've got a couple of them and wouldn't hesitate to buy another

Kimbers have improved a good bit in recent years. In fact they have one of the best 2011’s on the market currently.

quality control has decreased significantly since they have been bought out

STI Made a great 1911. I’ve got. .45 and 10mm 1911 from STI.

I’d look at the reviews for the Kimber DS warrior. I may pick one up just to scratch my itch before moving up to a platypus, Kimber 2k11 comp, Sig 2011 comp, or BUL new competed ported version.

I do have a cheap Springfield range officer in 9mm and it’s probably my softest and best shooting pistol I own.

I have a couple Kimber’s, pre-buyout. Would you be opposed to buying a pre-owned, not that mine are for sale…

Springfield is your best bang for your buck 1911. Look at the Ronin series. You can get a 4.25 in .45 or 9mm. Gunbuyer has the AOS red dot model for $849.00. You can find the non AOS for $750.

Kimber is better than they were 5 yrs ago but they absolutely do not have one of the best 2011 on the mkt.

They have a good 2011 for the money though.

OP, Springfield make a very good 1911 in 9mm
Smith and Wesson makes a good 1911 in 9mm but not sure they have a commander size
Colt and Ruger as well.

Kimber makes a decent 1911 in 9mm as well

I have a Springfield operator just like the green grip one that bama beer posted.
It shoots awesome and just feels great in the hand, it has a holosun red dot and it legit shoots beer can groups at 20yd and I’m not John wick!
I have shot probably 250-500rd and it hasn’t hick-up once.

Springfield is the answer. I worked at a gun range a few years ago, so I've shot most brands of pistols. Springfield 1911's in any caliber, by far, were my favorites. The EMP in 9mm is still up there on my wanted pistols list.

Got a pair of 1911 Springfield's. 9mm and .45 - both go bang every time.

Recently picked up a MAC 2011 - 20 rounds of 9mm flush mag - 26 in the extended and she is a fine shooter also.

I'm not near the pistol man some of these people are, but I bought a Ruger 9mm at Atwood's for $400 the other day that seems solid
