Kimber DS Warrior or the 2K11 are both excellent.

Milt Sparks Summer Special 2 is the way.
I know guys that everyday carry a 5” gov model in a SSII. I wouldn’t want to do it but it can be done.

I'm 160# at 6' working in and out of a warehouse but have a desk job. That's a pass

Is the main difference between a 9mm 2011 and 1911 that 2011 is double stack?

I’ll add, yes, for the most part.
One other difference is that most 2011s have a little heavier frame and slide. Not all but many. Helps will muzzle rise and gives faster follow ups. The extra weight in the slide also allows for a much lighter recoil spring.
And most all are in 9mm

2011 is modular frame where 1911 is a one piece. Also the recoil systems on 2011’s are different in most have captured or double spring systems to help with recoil impulse.

1970s colt combat commander 1911 in 9mm.
Weapon colt built for the competition to replace 1911 in 45 acp.
Beautiful, no mim parts, will only appreciate in value.
Mine had 2 fte from same box of reloads. Perfect otherwise.

It's really not that hard. I use an Urban Carry IWB Leatherlock holster and carry at the 3 o'clock position. With most tshirts, polos, or other shirts, you don't see it. It's really not heavy if you have a proper belt.
In the winter, I'll carry OWB in a 1791 leather holster if I am wearing a flannel or a jacket all day.

Fair enough. I'm not tagging a 3 pound pistol on my side in a warehouse where I'm swamp arse in 3 minutes.

Good point.
I like the 1911 profile, and have 3 .45s, so I'm used to the configuration.
Just wanted something a bit lighter for certain circumstances.
