Get 2 inch diameter PVC and buy 2 end caps. Cut PVC to about 3 feet long. Glue one end, start mixing and pouring tanneries in pvc. When full glue on top. Find weakest part of dam, push pvc in as far as it will go. Backup and shoot. This is how we do it.

oh yes.

Do mf’n tell plz.

Interestingly, YouTube has taken down all the videos and Google won't allow you to efficiently search it. But....

Tannerite is simply prilled Ammonium Nitrate fertilizer mixed with some aluminum powder. You can order these things on the internet with the click of a button . 34% prilled is about 25c a pound in bulk.

The key is to pack it tight in the container. If it's too loose it won't detonate. Pack the jug full, and then tap it down, and pack it some more.

A high powered rifle will set it off.

If you add diesel fuel to it you increase the Bang factor by about 2-3x. Think Oklahoma City. But it means you have to have a detonator to set it off. A simple rifle won't work.

Or so I've heard.

I watched a rerun of Yellowstone the other night. Kayce was trying to pull up a stump with his tractor and ended up flipping it. Pissed off, he went to a storage shed and got a bucket that looked to be about 3 gallon sized. I assumed it was tannerite. Backed away about 100 feet and shot it. I laughed my arse off. Dude would've been knocked off his feet from the concussion at that distance.

I also laugh when I see tv showing someone using dynamite, whole sticks. Most people have no idea the explosive power. We had a neighbor use a 1/4 stick to blow up a stump. Shattered lots of neighbors windows!

About 20 years ago a guy sold me 4 1/4 sticks. Can't remember what I paid, but I was in college so it couldn't have been much. I rode around with them in the door of my truck for a long time before I finally had the guts to light one. I put it on the ground in my parents' back yard and lit it, then did a little quick walk-away like you would with a black cat firecracker. Not sure which part of my experience was the bigger mistake, however it probably was one giant mistake from the time of purchase until I lit the 4th one. I imagine it was along the lines of letting someone shoot a .300 mag within inches of your ear at the same time as getting hit in the other ear by 1986 Mike Tyson.

Back before 9-11 we used to go to Cleveland Ms and buy a case of ditching dynamite. 3 sticks and 50 pounds of ammonia nitrate soaked overnight in diesel would blow up pretty much any dam you could encounter. We went to tannerite after it was impossible to get without being licensed. Been fighting beavers for over 50 years.

Get oxygen and acetylene mix perfect. Cut flame. Fill 2.5 gallon water jug. Seal.

Put 1lb tannerite on outside.

Detonate.

Edit:

Detonate from a very long ways.

No glass within 500 yards will survive.

Let’s go with two 5 gallon water jugs and 20 lbs tannerite.

Anyone got a Barrett .50 I can borrow?

A shovel or rake and five minutes should work? Not as fun.

I’m trying to get rid of a 5-10 lb can of calcium carbide if your interested in that?

I tried to give it to the East BR hazardous waste day but they wouldn’t take it.

Someone left it at the camp when I bought it. Can’t figure out how to get rid of it.

tannerite is for amateurs
make a BLEVE with a propane bottle and a lit burner

take an empty bottle and hit one of the shoulders with a grinder until you’re left with a spot about 1/16 thick. Fill the bottle. mark the grinder spot so you can see it thru a scope. hook up the bottle to the burner, light the burner and put the bottle on the burner

wait two beers

move a minimum of 1/2 mile away, shoot the marked spot

allegedly
