Not sure when he did that but there looked to be a lot of good salvageable lumber that just went to waste.

Not only a waste of timber but they made themselves one hell of a mess to clean up. They will be getting flat tires and animals with wounded feet around there for years to come.

Ended up putting 9lbs in 3 inch schedule 40 pvc. Packed tight.

Shot through it with a .243

It shattered the pvc and didn’t blow.

Too weak a round? Schedule 40 too thick and slowed the round too much?

Bingo.

You can set off Ziploc bags if the bullet is fast.

Now that a bunch of wannabes have replied, 2" pvc is your friend. Glue first cap on, any moisture kills the reaction. Fill with mixed tannerite, approximately 1#/ft. Glue top cap on. Take a steel rod and punch/ream a hole in top of dam vertically as deep as you can. Shove pipe as far as you can, leaving about 6" exposed for a target.

Get back as far as practical to safely make the shot. 3-4 lbs should do the trick. I've done small dams like you described with as little as 2 lbs.

Make sure you have adequate cover, shoot at your own risk, etc. This stuff will hurt you or bystanders.

Don’t listen to these poons. 20 lbs or more is probably just the right amount. Go for it! Be sure to video, preferably from a drone.

Tannerite is simply prilled Ammonium Nitrate fertilizer mixed with some aluminum powder. You can order these things on the internet with the click of a button . 34% prilled is about 25c a pound in bulk.

Proper ratios?
