2021 Lexus GX460 Opinions

Going to test drive a 21 model in the morning with 114k on the clock. Priced just over $30k. Its under fair market value but I've never even sat in one before. I daily an is350 and its been a fantastic car but was hoping for some insight from folks who have owned one. TIA

Great vehicles and they hold their value, but no way in hell am I paying 30K for a vehicle with over 100K miles.

Great vehicle. Solid 4.6 liter V8. All wheel drive. Very stable and safe. Sounds like a good car at a good price if the carfax and other data are clean.

Never would have thought I would either but here we are. To get one under 100k the price jumps another $7-8k. The wife only averages 6-7k miles a year so the mileage doesn't bother me much as it should last her quite a while.

I bought a 2019 in January that had 34,000 miles on it, and love it. As someone said, it is a tank, all wheel drive, V8 etc. Now it does require premium gas only and milage is not that great. Other than that, I absolutely love the vehicle.

In Louisiana, you can get away with 87 if you aren't towing. No real elevation changes.
From the factory, my truck requires 91 or above. It will compensate for 87 by losing under 1% power with retarded timing. I have it tuned for 93 and the timing advanced a great deal beyond stock.
That is very different than a factory vehicle "requiring" premium. It is designed to run in all areas of the country from 16000ft or more to sea level or less. It will run in -50 degree temps and 140 degree temps.
If we leave the Gulf Coast I have a custom tune to flash it to 87. The extra 60-80 HP isn't worth it not wanting to run at 14000 ft and -10 degrees in the rockies
I learned the lesson after having to feather the throttle to keep it running for damned near an hour when a blizzard rolled in in late March two years ago in fairplay. Once it finally hit operating temp and would hold it with the heater on, it was fine. The wife was not amused by my stupidity.

I’ll trade the premium gas and 16 mpg for reassurance that it’s going to crank & go anytime I need it to.

Smart. A 4x4 4 runner of the same year and mileage will be the same price or higher. I'd rather have the v8 though both motors are pretty great.

What other vehicle do you see guys regularly getting 300-500k miles with just timing belt changes every 100k? I want an OG Tundra for the same reason.

Trust me I get it, they are great vehicles but way over valued. You will still have a lot of maintenance issues come up after 100K. My brother had one and the shocks, AC, Etc had to be replaced. Not worth $35K. I drive an old arse Volvo with 230,000 miles but I only paid $1500 for it and it's a great car but wouldn't recommend if you don't know how to work on vehicles.
