As you can see, the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD is big. Really big. Features editor Scott Evans stood next to one at a preview event and found the Duramax badge was almost at eye level. And those helpful bed steps you see in front of the rear wheels? Those are mid-thigh height. So if yo}re 6-foot-6 and need a new truck, look no further than the Silverado HD.

quote:

The HD is physically bigger than the half-ton truck and looks absolutely nothing like it. The two trucks get completely different sheet metal with only the roof panel common to both half-ton and 2500/3500 models. Parked next to each other, as I saw them last month in Arizona, the new HD dwarfs the standard Silverado in practically every way — it's an absolute monster of a pickup truck.

Chevrolet says that the cab shares the same kind of improvements as the light-duty model does, with 3 inches more legroom for passengers and a taller, more upright driving position. The high bed can be accessed by a novel new integrated side step that's fitted to the forward part of the bedside.

quote:

Chevy will be making the new Silverado 2500/3500 at its truck plant in Flint, Mich., and says that sales will begin in mid-2019.

6.6L Turbo Diesel V8
6.6L Gasoline V8 (possible return of the big block?)

So they made a truck that the people who actually have use for them can’t even afford. Got it

And people get pissed about construction costs.

This isnt even the equipment needed to build a house. Its just the tool to get it there.

6.6 liter would be a 400 ci. ?
That was a small block engine.
Maybe they will offer a big block later though.

I think it looks better than the Silverado. Won't be buying either though, so it doesn't matter.

It’s like everyone is competing to put the ugliest possible grill on their trucks. Congratulations Chevy, you were behind for a long time but now you are winning.

And that's why I'm buying mine in 2019! I do not like that front end at all.

I wish more companies would look at making a beefy 1/2 ton similar to what Nissan is trying to do with their Titan XD.

I know in foreign countries Toyota makes a Hilux, which is a Tacoma with a diesel engine. Those things are bullet proof and will last a long time with proper maintenance.

I wanted one of the original HDs like this so bad when they were out. I no longer pull a camper, so I no longer want one.

Chevy Colorado and new 2019 Silverado offer Diesel engines now. One is a 2.8L I-4 Duramax. The other is a 3.0L I-6 Duramax.

Ford also has a light duty V6 Diesel engine.
