If you are running the river near Venice, be careful on running in rough water and loading your boat down too much.

I was down there all weekend, the weather was terrible. we use our bay boats and other boats to haul gear. hauling gear in a mud boat is pretty sketchy. we had 4 big boats and 6 duck boats all made it back. 4 boats sank in marina from not being pumped out and yes the river was very bad. some people just don't think I guess, but glad they are all okay. we only hunted Saturday and shot 84 with our group. didn't hunt Sunday due to weather and having to pick up camp.

That's scary as shite. I almost got overtaken by a ship's wave last year right at pilot town. Scared the shite out of me. The river is a dangerous place.

The box fan has me really confused.

They were probably camping Pass a loutre.

I figured something like that, but its position in the picture was rather comical.

We really need to require a real boating class to be able to drive a boat. I don't mean the bullshite online course for people born after 1984 but an actual class on how to drive a boat.
2 foot seas can be handled easily with those boats. They had plenty of horse power as well. I'm not saying you could run around in that kind of sea but merely getting caught up in it is entirely manageable.

Really hope there wasn't a dog IN that kennel.

Good chance those boats were overloaded...

Even if we ignore the fact that the alleged overloading might have been prevented with proper training, I'm willing to bet it was still manageable. At the very least they could have gotten the boats to safety.
Boats are a lot like sport bikes, they are almost always more capable than their operators.

They probably encountered a 4 foot crew boat wake

Good thing they did not open the yeti, the river might of froze over

Sucks, but know way I'm in a low-sided boat with a mud motor in that part of the river. Looks to me like they found safety since those probably floatation-less rigs are beached on the rocks instead of on the bottom of the river.

that's the only place to be in a fog. 20 feet off those rocks on the west side so you can see
