Lyles winning would be so awesome.
Noah winning the 100m and 200m is where I parked my car.

Thanks for this! One of my earliest sports memories is Michael Johnson and his golden shoes crying on the stand in ‘96

I know a sub 10 second 100m is ridiculous. but to truly appreciate it, I want to go against someone doing it.
I completely understand this sentiment. I’ve never been on the track with a world class athlete either, but I can tell you what the back of Slip Watkins’ jersey looked like at St Thomas Aquinas circa 1985. I wasn’t even mad. Just in awe.

Men’s shot put: Strong potential for a US sweep here. WR holder Ryan Crouser leads the charge with Payton Otterdahl and Joe Kovacs looking to sure up the podium for the states. Leonardo Fabbri of Italy does own recent wins over Crouser and kovacs recently so he may have something to say about the sweep.
Looking forward to this. Imma be pissed if that Italian frick breaks up the American trio. I'll absolutely lose my shite if he gets gold over Crouser.

What a run by Grant Fisher!
This is a super strong US national team, and getting it started so well is a great sign for us fans.
Fisher was right off his PB

Thinking about putting a score board together the way High school meets are scored (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1) by country just for shiggles. Sound like something yall would like seeing or would it be a waste of time?

I'd be down. They did something similar for the WC22 in Oregon and the US stomped everyone. It was like when you have your district meet and there's one powerhouse school with a bunch of little rural schools

That was us with Ed white/erath in our district
I think we might have won my freshman year on the back of some sprinters. Every other year was a blood bath

Hoare and Garcia Romo out. Something is up with the OAC. I wonder if Ritz overcooked them

No question. These guys look extremely overtrained or they are sick.
Couple that with Monson and Klecker being injured and it’s not good.
Obiri is probably the only member of the group who can handle it.

Crouser is an absolute mountain of a man.

Holy shite. Fraser-Pryce has scratched.
Posted on 8/3/24 at 12:58 pm to BluegrassBelle
Yeah that really sucks. May be the last we see of her. A legend.
Posted on 8/3/24 at 12:58 pm to BluegrassBelle
Damn. Hope she’s ok. Any thoughts as to why yet?
Posted on 8/3/24 at 1:00 pm to BluegrassBelle
Wow all the top Jamaicans have dropped out.
Posted on 8/3/24 at 1:02 pm to Dawgsontop34
No idea.
I don’t think she would scratch out of fear of not beating ShaCarri. But odd that all of the Jamaicans are out now.
I hope this doesn’t turn into “Well she didn’t beat the Jamaicans”.

How does Luxembourg randomly have a speedster like that ?
Posted on 8/3/24 at 1:04 pm to REG861
Looked like Richardson was a little slow off the blocks
Posted on 8/3/24 at 1:05 pm to AllDayEveryDay
Definitely a bad start, not that Shacarri is known as a good starter.
Alfred looked extremely strong and good.
