Bad neighborhoods in Los Angeles gentrify all the time and many probably think it’s worth sitting on a 300k home in Compton and hoping it will double in ten years. Compton is close to USC so it seems like it’s a good candidate for bein gentrified.

It's 15 miles which in LA traffic can be 45 minutes to an hour.

That's going to be in Inglewood not far from LAX, Hawthorne, etc. Not sure how much affect that will have on Compton.

when the housing market collapsed in from 2008-2012 there was a massive rush of Middle Eastern and Israeli money into LA County Real Estate. They bought as many houses as they could, renovated them and put them on the market as rentals. There are entire neighborhoods owned by corporations seated in Asia, Israel and the Middle East.

I have no idea why, but seeing pictures like this is legitimately depressing to me. I could not imagine living like that. How do you let your living space devolve into such a pigsty?

I agree, but notice the actual situation there. There are three beds in that room, and it appears to be a really small room. Think about how messy and cluttered one kid can be in a room and triple it.

Yeah, I zillowed this area before. It would almost be worth it to get a 50 year mortgage on one of these, make the min payment, amd hold for 10 years.

Looks like a more crowded area than I would want to live in to begin with, too many people for me, like to take a piss in my yard when I want too

I truly don’t understand how/why people pay this kind of money to live in a shoebox in the ghetto. A lot of people try justifying it with the “higher pay” mantra but the pay isn’t THAT much higher... we’re talking like an extra 10k a year. That’s supposed to justify triple the housing market prices? Not to mention property, taxes, etc? frick that.
I’d rather buy a house in Tennessee (not Cashville) or somewhere on the Mississippi coast for <300k and just chill. Still get good weather, and that price range pushes you away from most of the culcha.
