Update from Cleco. Seems like the rumor is true about a major transmission line being out

If you see a TWC reporter pretending to struggle to stand up in the wind, its your patriotic duty to calmly walk past in the background

Half of The Woodlands neighborhood off of 1088 has power. The other half doesn’t. WST vs Cleco. This sucks

Well my previous post was at 4:15 pm yesterday before I lost power. Soon after that the eyewall slammed us.

Winds went from 50-60 to at least 80-90 In a matter of minutes. At one point it was whiteout conditions. My neighbors house is less than 100 feet away and I could barely see it for about 5 to 10 minutes.

I’m very fortunate. Lost one big tree and 3 or 4 shingles. No water damage. I never even heard the tree fall it was so noisy from wind and rain.

My neighbors and I went out in the eye to assess damage. Eye only lasted about 45 minutes. Back side was only light rain but wind was close to front side wind and lasted longer than front side.

If I had to take The eyewall of a storm I guess this one was enough, but a little bit stronger would have obviously caused bigger problems.

I hope everyone else mAde it through okay, and I hope everyone fAlong the Gulf coast that is still recovering from this crazy hurricane season gets back to normal real soon.

A friend uptown upriver from Audubon Park reports he's been told ten days for power to be restored. He's packing up his refrigerator/freezer to take to Metarie to a friend who's "In the only block that has power" out there.

Ten days. Hope he misheard.

Power just came back on about 30 mins ago in Covington behind Lakeview Hospital. It’s nice living on the hospital grid.

6th street and the Lakeway buildings look like they got hit by a tornado

I had a client get stuck in town and was staying at the Marriott Lakeway. He said there is plenty of blown out windows in the building and every pole is down along 6th.

Last night was crazy.

In the eye of the damn storm, my uncle tried to get me to climb up the village water tower to save a little girl but I refused, it was too dangerous. Then some foreign a-hole one-ups me and climbs up there to save her. Then it all fell down and landed on my uncle. Wouldn't you know it, this same foreign frick and his cuck buddy go and karate chop the wood in half to save him. Then my uncle disowned me on the spot, in front of the whole damn village, after everything I've done for him.

But it's ok. They are having a gay little paper lantern festival in a couple days, and they'll all be there. I'm going to show them what's up. Not in my village.
