Is anyone going to comment on these stupid sounding reports of a 50 foot or higher wave off of the coast that keeps getting posted here and shared all over social media?

The fact that we are seeing Tweets of landfalling hurricane with 110mph sustained winds at the end of October is just mind blowing.

It is legit and was likely measured. It isn't unprecedented. Ivan had much, much bigger waves

And there were multiple 30+ft waves prior. Seems legit to me, unless the sensor is busted.
It's pretty far out in the gulf. Still a huge friggin wave.
