With the 18mph speed is this one of the fastest storms? Have there been any storms that moved faster?

Hurricane Nate in 2017 was moving 28mph

This point and click forecast from the NWS is awesome. Can look up the hourly forecast in your neighborhood for all those that ask what conditions will be at your house.

Shows 100 mph wind gusts now for Mandeville lakefront tonight at 7!

Bruh it’s moving too fast. You will just have to pick up a couple of chairs in the backyard. Quit being a drama queen.

Don't discredit the potential for significant impacts well inland for this one. We've already seen upwards of 3" of rain this AM just in north AL. Throw more rain and high winds in the mix and it could get hairy, particularly across central AL.

Which also confirms my beliefs in people downvote for different reasons and no one knows which it is.

If it's heading east and someone upvotes a post on it, it may because they agree. If someone downvotes, it's not because they disagree but maybe because they don't like the direction it's heading

They are either right and everyone else idiots, or the other way around

Every other major site is calling for 50 mph gusts in mandeville

The seven downvotes all but confirms exactly what my suspicions were in that there are people in this thread who are trying desperately to see exactly what the hell they want to see.

That's par for the course, baw. Wishcasting is real in an OT Hurricane thread.

Y’all remember Cindy in 2005? Said it wouldn’t be bad, she packed a pretty good punch.

Biggest concern for me is the westbank catching an eye wall. Have family there.

I wouldn’t drink that if I were you, it’s not as good as you might think.

They show 80 mph gusts on fox 8 tonight. It will definitely be more than 50. you’re looking at sustained winds

Central jumped on the bandwagon

Parents, due to the enhanced risk of higher winds this afternoon, and out of an abundance of caution, CCSS will have an early dismissal today. Middle and high school students will dismiss at 1:00. Bellingrath, Tanglewood, and CIS students will dismiss at 2:00. All after-school activities and after-care are canceled. Thank you.

No, no I’m not.

And NWS has mandeville at 80mph sustained. That seems absurd
